Thanks

I have a V3 myself but not really worried right now. The only option that I have is the BMW assist w/bluetooth. Phone adapter doesn't work in germany.

last I checked the E90 adapters were not on the system yet

But seeing as most models use the same adapters , the current other BMW models only have ones for

Motorola V600 and V710
Nokia 6310i
Siemens S55, S65
Ericsson T610

I checked with my BMW Center Parts Department for a cradle for my Motorola RAZR V3 two weeks ago. Nothing was available at that time. A cradle for the V3 will be difficult because the port is in the side of the phone.

Very good point. Thanks. I haven't bought the phone yet so I have some options.

The cradle provides 2 things

1) Exterior antenna for better reception

2) Charging, phones tend to use a lot of battery power when in Bluetooth mode

Exactly. This is a very important consideration.

phone cradle

I have a Cingular/Palm Treo 650. Anyone know if there's a way to make this dock, so I can use the car's antenna?

As a possible lead, I noticed Audi has a simialr system, and they have a cradle for my phone. I can't help but wonder (and hope) that both Audi and BMW contracted with the same OEM/design house, and so their docks will be interchangeable. Wishful thinking ...
