Finally an E90 MSport owner

Hey everyone,

I just picked up my first BMW this morning. It's a 2009 335i M-Sport dressed in Black Sapphire Metallic and Oyster Leather interior. M-Performance Power Kit (including exhaust), 6spd transmission, Premium, Cold Weather, Comfort, Logic7, Nav, etc etc , so she's somewhat of a rare bird. Turbos were replaced 2k miles ago. HPFP at 10k miles. Also comes with the Maintenance Plan for another year. Detailed history.

I really wanted an N55, but this deal was too good to pass up. I'm making the transition to BMW, after being an avid Audi lover (especially B5's) for over 10 years. I couldn't be happier with this car, and have NO regrets about moving on. It's the perfect blend of power, comfort, and aesthetics.

For now, I only have some cell phone pics, but here she is!

For now, the plans are simple:
All weather floor mats
Either Continental DWS all seasons or dedicated winters
M-Performance pedals
Piano Black or CF trim
Drive
Maintain
Be happy

I read lots of reviews mentioning the lack of turbo lag and slight increase low-end torque were huge benefits. Also, I liked the sound of only one turbo (one less thing to break!).

But in the end, I found the perfect car. It's in terrific shape for its age and mileage.

Lack of turbo lag ? The N55 has less turbo lag than the N54 ? Same thing about torque, these engines were supposed to have the same specs, no ? Anyways, she's pretty.

I actually thought this too, but the info I found online seems to indicate that BMW started using the N55 with model year 2010 and later.

Anyway, congrats, OP! Awesome combo of packages, features, etc.!

As far as I know, the "measurables" are the same. But the N55 has a twin-scroll turbo, which is designed to keep turbo lag at a minimum. I believe I read that the N55 turbo spools a few hundred RPM's quicker than the N54 twin turbo setup. For a normal driver, the difference is almost negligible....but there is a difference.

That said, NEITHER setup is known for having bad turbo lag in outside, non-BMW circles. I've owned high HP small displacement engines (450+whp 4-cylinders, and 300whp 5-cylinders), and this car is a Godsend compared to those.

Nice looking car! I'm in the market for something nearly the same. I like the light interior look, but I've got kids so don't want to go down that road.

Sounds like the perfect e90 335i

Only thing is the wood trim but I do know pictures makes wood trim stand out far more then it really does.

But awesome color combo and options.
