Rubber all season floor mats or carpet?
I purchased my car with the rubber floor mats. It is starting to bother me since it is a bit slippery. Does anyone else have this issue? Aesthetically, do you like the looks of carpet or rubber floor mats? I have black interior btw...

Love the rubbers. They are easy to clean and don't really look bad especially with a black interior.

All weather rubber. The carpet mats roll and are quite cheap //Thread

Ah yes, an epic question. I, too, was debating this.
On the one hand, carpet fells nicer and can be easily matches to the interior color of your car (well bare floor anyway). Buy it's harder to clean and may roll up as others have said. OTOH, all seasons are easier to clean and more durable but don't feel as nice and are usually just black. I had these in my previous car but of course never cleaned them lol So... I got both! Dealer gave me the carpet ones for free (cuz they're more expensive) and I bought the all seasons myself for a discount since I had just bought my car with them. So far I only have the carpet ones installed but I think I might swap them out soon just cuz I don't wanna clean the carpets. They both seem to be faily high quality but you could probably do better with either if you go third party. Since your interior is black it shouldn't be hard to match either way.

What is everyone using to clean there rubber mats? I love them during the winter in NY and rainy days so i dont feel like I am ruining and staining my carpet mats, but for the long run I find them very difficult to clean. I have tried using armorall type product and hosed them down extensively, but can never get most of the dirt off. I am happy I have them otherwise I would have had to replace all my floormats by now, but I think clean black carpet mats are the best looking in a car. Just my opinion, and any suggestions on how to clean these mats would be great its starting to bother me.

I went w/ rubber ones with my current car and I'm sold. I'll never again put carpet mats in my car. I agree carpet looks 100% nicer -- when the mats are new. After a rainy and winter season they look like junk and you really can't clean them back to new. OTOH rubber ones wash up nicely.
I let them sit in regular car soap for 10 min then scrub them w/ a tire brush and rinse and dry in the garage. |

I have both and they're both low quality. If someone made a good mat I'd pay $150 for them, but to tell you the truth low qual is par for the course nowadays. I picked up the floor mats from a new Jaguar XJ and it was not lambs wool, it was about as good as the BMW carpeted mats, pretty much cr**.

Not sure what kind of mats you guys are running but my OEM rubbers are awesome. They hold up incredibly well against snowboard boots when I goto tahoe and are rigid enough for me to pull them out and dump all the melted snow out.

Get both. I use the rubber ones in the winter, and put the carpeted ones in when it warms up.

I have both. I hate the rubber ones for the driver side, the hooks don't match up with the holes on mine. So everytime I get in the car I have to pull the rubber mats back so the clutch doesn't catch it. This winter I just kept my carpet ones in and now it's stained with salt...

I agree that floor mat quality sucks for both the carpet and all weather versions. I don't mind the all weather with carpeted heal pad I have now for winter, but I really need to find some good carpet mats for the nice weather. I think I'm gonna try Lloyd Luxe mats or Griots Plush Mats. I'm hoping to get a nice thick quality mat. Didn't think it would be this hard to find...

I’ve been pretty impressed with the Bavarian Autosport all-weather floor mats.

The carpet looks über cheapie, it rolls no matter what/dirty and eventually get in the way of the clutch. I switched to weather tech and never looked back

I love rubber floor mats they are much easier to maintain then the carpet ones. Plus being in the military we have to wear boots. Those boots destroey carpet mats. I need to get some now that i think about it. Anyone know where i can get some for cheap for a M5
