Its Started!! Baby's On Its Way!!

Well it looks as though the midwifes "magic fingers" might have done the trick yesterday - either that or the curry has kicked in (god help us if its a water birth, might need a bigger net, a wet suit and a snorkel!!) - but Louisa awoke an hour ago with mild contractions - she is sat in the bath as i type from my iPad on the loo opposite her!! The contractions are quick but not lasting more than 25 - 30 secs, so theres probably some way to go yet. Will keep you posted. Thanks again for the messages of support. Steve

No handbook for all this Steve, not that'd you'd read it anyhow as you're a bloke.

Hope Louisa is comfortable and wait it out............it'll be worth it.

How's your daughter at the mo?

My wife gave birth to a healthy baby BOY!!!! His name is Jack Richard Hooper and he weighed in at 7lb 6oz bless him.
Managed to get Louisa from Chigwell to Harlow in 10 mins - had the X5 on its door handles - just put the hazards on, flashed the main beam and sat it in the middle of the white lines all the way there - thankfully everyone pulled over - even had a couple of white van drivers give us the thumbs up when they saw my wife crunched over in the passenger seat - they must have guessed where we were heading!!
Went into full labour at around 9am and Jack arrived at 10.55am this morning. To say im over the moon that i have a son is an understatement!! Molly, our 3.5yr old has been fantastic with him already and is very excited - even helped daddy do the first "black tar" poo nappy!!!! How awkward are ball-bags to clean properly, LOL!!!! Girls bits are far easier!!!
Anyway, just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all the lovely messages and well wishes plus all the messages on here. Ive just got back home and if im knackered then goodness knows how Louisa is feeling bless her. She was an absolute trooper and she never fails to amaze me with her strength and resilience. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing wife and family. Very very happy man i am!! Will upload some pics of Jack when he has settled and looks less like Benjamin Button at the start of the film!!!!!
