Nice one Oli, pleased you've finally bought a Porsche.

Agree, lovely colour and yes, rear wiper an option lol. I was told it's because not everyone wants one so an option it is...........

Look forward to your review when you've had the chance to have a good 'play'.

More like....'people think they'll need that so we'll charge extra for it'.

Actually, you don't need it.....Porsche side and rear windows appear to have a factory repellant on them so nothing sticks which means that when you're moving, all windows except the windscreen (the one you really want!) are clear. This is clearly helped by the aerodynamics on the rear window which on mine is always clear and dry even when its hammering down.

You're right, both mine had the repellent on the windows but defo. more so on the side windows.

The Cayman S certainly benefits from a rear wiper imo and the Turbo less so, but mine had one and I used it - daft not too and made it clearer seeing who or what was behind you ahem.

Obviously something they can charge you for...........Andrew didn't think I had to state the obvious.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow. I've booked it into Porsche for a full checkover. I think it's 220 well spent.

Is this to get the full fat OPC warranty? You will probably have read (on PH) how picky they are now about non-standard parts - even including things like a non-OEM battery!

Plus don't be surprised if they say it needs new pads/discs - they tend to say this even when the discs/pads are brand new/have lots of life. It seems to be a sort of OPC test to see if you know how worn they are.

No, it's to check the car is all ok. It comes with a warranty, I'll put the Porsche warranty on there at the next service, Jan 2012.

111 point check went all well, dealer mentioned it's one of the best looked after 911s they've seen for the miles.

Collection all sorted for Tuesday at 1pm, just booked the flight for Sarah and I.

Only 6 sleeps

Oli, you will not be disappointed! Hope all goes well and enjoy the drive back. Just stick to the speed limit and let everyone pass you and be safe in the knowledge that if you wanted to you could wipe the floor with them

Remember to post some pics when you get the chance, I am down your way tomorrow, staying with my brother in Yapton, but without my Pork!
