DEPO P90s v2 from Fishcake

Hey all,

Getting close to pulling the trigger and buying these guys:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-08...item1c1d0ddbf8

I've got a 2007 E90 that was built in 10/06, and has the halogens stock with no angel eyes at all. Been doing some research the past couple days but I've got a couple of questions:

1) I ordered an OBD II cable to code my car, so I shouldn't have to worry about an error canceler, since I can just code all the errors out, correct?

2) Does the old headlights adapter / pluging literally plug right into this one?

3) Since I have a 2007 that was built in 10/06, I will not have the AE's as DRLs, and cannot code those... are my only options hardwiring the AEs to the cig lighter or buying an DAEOS harness? Also, how hard is it to do either one?

4) Will I have any problems trying to do a corner delete?

5) Are the AE's on this similar or as bright as OSS and LS3s?

6) I believe this set does NOT come with Xenon XIDs and ballasts. If I order a set from highperformance bulbs in a few weeks, will I need to remove the front bumper and headlight again to install them?

Feel free to post any commentary pertaining to DEPOs in generally or fishcake's set specifically! Appreciate it!

Just purchased a set, along with a DAEOS harness and error cancelers. Will also be programming out the errors and a corner delete.

Umnitza sells these with HIDs pre-installed and a harness should make them DRL. Jlevistreetwerks sells the harness. No errors if you can code them out. The corners are LED, so no amber. The ones from Umnitza have the Predator Orion AA, probably one of the brightest halos out.

Already ordered the ones from fishcake which should be here Monday, but couldn't find the ones you were talking about??

So are you 100% sure that the DAEOS harness will work with DEPOs? I was under the impression that they used different wiring for the Angel Eyes but not sure..

The DAEOS harness will not work. The DEPO's use the parking lamp wire for the Angel Eyes.

I'm just guessing here, but if the AEs are hard-wired to the parking lights, then I think the only way to get them to work as DRL is to re-wire them physically. Pretty sure there wouldn't be a simple plug and play solution, and coding won't work either.

I also have an '07 with halogens, so am very interested in how this all turns out.

This was my old 323i

Install was really easy straight forward, coming from a guy that doesn't know much about cars, just find the front bumper removal tutorial. The headlight just plugs straight into the existing wiring harness.
** THE TABS HOLDING THE DOORS TO ACCESS THE BULBS IS FRAGILE!!! THE METAL CLIP WILL BREAK THEM IF TO MUCH FORCE IS PUT ON THEM WHEN SEALING THE LIGHTS... THEN YOUR SCREWED **
** WHEN INSTALLING HID'S INTO THE LIGHTS MEASURE THE DIAMETER OF THE BULB 1000x before YOUR DRILL INTO THE COVER, I MADE THE MISTAKE OF DRILLING HOLES TOO BIG **
** PROJECTORS SUCK BUT THEYRE BETTER THEN REFLECTORS, BE VERY CAREFUL ADJUSTING/LEVELING THEM **

1) I ordered an OBD II cable to code my car, so I shouldn't have to worry about an error canceler, since I can just code all the errors out, correct?
The headlights themselves will NOT give you errors, however you if run HID's with them then possibly if you don't use a error cancelling module.

2) Does the old headlights adapter / pluging literally plug right into this one?
Yes, its literally plug and play with 1 harness.

3) Since I have a 2007 that was built in 10/06, I will not have the AE's as DRLs, and cannot code those... are my only options hardwiring the AEs to the cig lighter or buying an DAEOS harness? Also, how hard is it to do either one?
From what I understand the DAEOS harness does not work with this, You will need to have the car coded but even then if you have FRM1 you will not be able to have the angel eyes run as DRL's unless you turn the light switch manually to "0"

4) Will I have any problems trying to do a corner delete?
Corner delete will be fine with coding.

5) Are the AE's on this similar or as bright as OSS and LS3s?
Yes just as bright as its a full LED ring

6) I believe this set does NOT come with Xenon XIDs and ballasts. If I order a set from highperformance bulbs in a few weeks, will I need to remove the front bumper and headlight again to install them?
I recommend buying the HID kit with the headlights so that its not a pain to drill holes into the light cover and run the HID wires like I had to do.

Here are a few replies I received yesterday from Fishcake when inquiring about the DEPO's he offers. I asked about the AE's and the blacked out housing that I've seen discussed on the Forum...

Are there any tutorials or youtubes for coding these DEPO lights?

Are there any tutorials or youtubes out there for coding these DEPO lights? I work at a BMW dealership and asked some of the mechanics and they did not know what I was talking about...
And does anyone know if these will work OK with a 2006 E91 wagon?
And still not real clear on if it is possible to make these work like the new BMWs and have only the angel eyes burning without the corner orange lights?
Thanks for any help guys

From what i understand not all dealerships can code. Some are Dinan installers and im guessing those dealers have the equipment to do it.

I DID have my dealer code my AE's. However, they didnt really know what they were doing. I ended up buying a cheap OBII bluetooth cable and suing BMWHAT app on my phone to code the AE's. They now work as if they were stock.

Also, if this applies to the kit you are shopping, the Ballasts and Bulbs offered in the fishcakes kit are complete garbage. They are the same generic 35watt kit you can get on ebay for $20. I went through 3 bulbs and ballast within a couple of months. I got tired of cracking my headlights open every weekend to fix them and bought better components.

So... can you elaborate on the ballasts issue. I had planned on buying different bulbs anyways, so that is not abig deal. However the ballasts kind of concern me. I am not a very mechanically enclined individual and not great at problem solving and troubleshooting these kind of things...

I really would like to do a plug and play set up with out having to do a lot of other stuff, if you know what I mean.

My DEPO's from fishcake321 were P & P with no issues at all. Going on 6 months. All I did was replace the side marker yellow bulb with a silver/yellow.

To elaborate, it is just an all around low quality HID kit that is installed in the headlights. Like I said, it is a $35 kit. It appears the casing of the ballast itself failed in my case. Moisture or something got inside via a seam. It smelled of burning electronics and the headlight went out. The bulbs flickered when going over bumps (signs of a cheap bulb) and went out several times over just a few months.

I have no complaints about the ease of installation or the DEPO v2 housing itself though. Just the low quality HID components used. It truly was a simple plug & Play installation.
