I know 9CBE and 9CBF are communications errors with the SMC II module but I'm not sure what your errors are for. I would google them.

Since you're so good at SEARCHING maybe you should show us how good your Search skills are and solve our problem?

Because the OP couldn't find it, and neither could I

If you still haven't gotten the issue fixed maybe this can help.

you need an ODB cable and Laptop and use toolset.exe

Ok, guys. A couple of posts back I was ready to give up due to the short circuit-code in my used FRM2 which I couldn't remove.

Anyway, today I gave it a last chance. I connected to the module using Toolset32 and the correct SGBD (FRM70.prg for FRM2). Toolset32 lets you send all commands the module can interpret.

Among the available commands was "short circuit reset" (except in german). The command required an argument - the number (id) of the lamp circuit to reset. I had no idea what id the left inner backlight has, so I ran the command for all id's 0-63.

And? Well, the short circuit error could now be cleared using INPA! Backlight is working, no more errors! And welcome lights are working, of course.

A happy ending to a long story

aaand the name of the value on toolset.exe is called steuern_reset_kurzschlussabschaltung

hey thank you for reply . i end up replacing footwell module i had it version 1 and it was some what upgrade to version 3.

the problem why i was not able to clear the codes was that i had made in china HID's installed and it was giving a lot of errors and i was driving like that for 2-3 month and those errors end up stuck there.

after i replaced footwell module everything was fine and plus i had some options coded like welcome light's / DRL as angel eyes/ rain sensor closing everything if car is parcked and its raining.

dont know if it helps you but i wish u a luck hope u get your problem fixed

My short was caused by Camaross305's HID kit. the cable wasnt long enough to be routed away from the engine's headers so the fuse melted

i think i may be on the right track with what i posted on how to fix it. i just need to find the ISTA v41 Daten files because my ediabas is outdated

can you please explain or give a couple examples of exactly we should be putting in the arguments spot and then hit f5?

the only options in the dropdown are lamp_nr and 0x3f.

no one on any forum can give me straight answer to this and I keep getting errors no matter what i try. They just keep copying and pasting the same damn post over and over without explaining it!!!

Sorry for the anger Ive been trying to fix this for a while now haha a

Im helping a friend with this code 9CBC.. But on 525i -06

Prog #ZB Update LM - no go
Code LM - no go
Reset short counter - no go

It wont reset at all, short circuit counter=1 still.

Any other advice?

We might try to swap headlight (having a set laying around) the repeat procedure, if this isnt helping we're swapping LM.
