I guarantee you 95% it will work. I just had a guy with 2-months old 2011 135i and everything worked fine.

If you ask me it's kind of a useless feature really. The car has to be started AND your wipers turned on (the little button) for it to work. And if it does trigger and closes the sunroof, then you can't open it for the next few minutes.
