BMW novice trackdays - no warranty cover

BMW are promoting novice trackdays on their website. Look great value and would be ideal for me.

http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/about/new...262304,00.html

Asked BMW if my warranty would be okay - answer is NO, if a component, or related component fails as a result, it wont be covered.

Shame, but not surprised.

Bargain prices, there's one at Brands for £49.00!
Might give that a go

I went to a Cadwell Park novice track day a few months back - it was well organised and great value for money. Any interest in these sessions anyone?

BMW Website; 'giving BMW owners the chance to take advantage of an exclusive offer to experience the full capability of their own cars at some of the country’s leading race tracks'.
Hmmmm, how can they promote 'experience the full capability' on their website but not cover any failure of the car due to being on the 'experience' day!!!

Very good events and well run. I liked the way the restrict the number of cars that can attend and then keep the cars out on the track low well.

As for novice day, hmm there were some very seasoned drivers and cars there, but all really well mannered.

Bedford autodrome is a great track as lots of run off with lots of challenging sections (where you race the palmer sport single seaters)

I was thinking about doing this one but the track looks rather "tight" and not much run off.

Bedford and Snetterton look like they have lots of run off but they are too far from Hull to make it worthwhile.

What was your experience like at Cadwell?

Send a message via MSN to sheps
Cadwell is a fantastic track, I've been there a couple of times and massively enjoyed myself.

That said, Oulton Park is without doubt my favourite track.

It's nothing to do with BMW UK (thus of course no warranty cover) its the BMW car club.

The regular BMWCC track days are brilliant, pretty quiet, and all people in their pride and joys rather than nutters out to prove a point in their latest track tool. Not intimidating at all.

http://www.bmwcarclubgb.co.uk/bmw-club-trackdays.php

Their next full day is at Cadwell park, £169 all in open pit lane. (less for members)

I'll be going if I can get the pass stamped by the missus

To be fair -Cadwell is pretty tight and unforgiving, little room for error.

I did take it relavely steady and really enjoyed it - there is little alternative though given the situation with insurance.

Having spectated any Cadwell many times, it was great to drive the track with only a few other cars around.
