Have you tried this O2 sensor fix from Innovative Performance?
Hello!
I recently bought a Cobb Tuner for ease of install, as well as recommendation from a friend. I also purchased a set of AR downpipes without knowing about the O2 sensor fix. Not realizing that the Cobb Tuner doesn't have a built-in O2 fix (like the JB3/4), I'd be forced to buy the BMS Downpipe fix and enter the ECU. So, does anyone have any other fixes? I've read a few posts about tapping the O2 sensors in downstream of the second set of catalytic converters... as well as these options: BMS CAN Tool http://www.n54tuning.com/index.php?_...d&productId=64 Is this a legitimate option? Anyone have any experience with these O2 Simulators/ Spacers from Innovation Performance?: http://boost-controller.com/index.ph...index&cPath=11 Ideas? Input? Thanks! |

just get the BMS 02 fix , easiest way to stop the codes. also tons of info here in how to adjust it in case of codes still been thrown.

the ECU also expects the rear 02 sensors to react fast enough otherwise it will throw a signal code. The 02 sensors MUST be placed in direct stream 90 degrees. Been there done that.. This for example did not work for me.
This ECU is very sensitive to 02 sensors

I wrote Innovative an email:
"How do these spacers simulate the correct exhaust gas? Is there some kind of mini-catalytic converter material in the O2 spacer?" Response: "Thank you for your interest in our spacer/sims... These will work great on your 335i. Just make sure that you have approximately 2 inches to add the spacers to the sensors. Our spacers do not have the "mini cat". We've tried the mini cats and saw no difference in performance. The mini cats are gimmicky if you ask me. Thanks again. -JP" I'll be giving these a shot. There's 2" of room after installing the AR downpipes eh? |

Another thing to think of...(sorry but little off topic)
O2 sensors are also very sensitive with the signal that gets sent through the wires. If one ever needs to replace the o2 sensor, you will have the option of cutting the wires and splicing in a new o2 sensor. This will not work 99% of the time because by cutting and plicing the wires will affect the interference. I changed two o2 sensors and everything went great but I got the o2 sensors with the stock wires.

I've seen in some cases where a company will tilt the sensor 45 degressand push it back a couple inches so that no DP fix is needed. Wonder if it works with our cars?

Yeah, if your adding your own bungs for o2 sensors you have to make sure bungs are located north of the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions, 6 o'clock being the worst possible...this is due to condensation which forms along the bottom of the exhaust which damages sensors as well as exhaust gas travel which is best near the top of the exhaust pipes..just read about this recently somewhere as I'm getting ready to install AFR wb-o2 meter sensors...trying to make a decision on FJO or Innovate...FJO has problems with stock
