Haha I'm with you Marcus. This sounds like so much trouble. I will just be good at handwashing the car on a regular basis, keeping it clean etc.

Then maybe I'll pay someone to do wax/Zaino/whatever for me like once a year or something. I don't think I need it right away on a brand new car anyway.

The problem is, everybody has their own five best ways of going about it

I used to baby my last new vehicle all the time. It got washed and Mcguired once a week, and I was insane about keeping the dust off. That all changed one day when some jack-ars in Kia rear ended me. The best part was, he didn't have a valid license or INSURANCE. :mad: Luckily, my uninsured motorist coverage took care of the damage (because I love paying for other peoples insurance as well as my own

).
What's my point? All that time and energy babying my car was wasted, because of some jagoff decided to hit me in the ars. So now, it is CarWash City for me!!! :rocks:

Good point of view!..You do have to be a little obsessive when it comes to this stuff...Ill tell you though, the reason I am such a Zaino advocate, is because it WORKS so well...If youre like me, you might remember "Q-Tipping" the vinyl siding and exterior trim after waxing to get all that white crud off...Not anymore..I go right over the stuff...

And NOW you dont even have to worry about that, because the E90 doesnt even have that stuff!!

But really... Even if you dont want to dedicate all your time to detailing, dont change your car color because of the maintenance factor...Theres nothing worse than having "second thoughts" after dropping 34 grand, and always looking twice at that black sapphire next to you at the stop light..You can tell that look a mile away, and I get it all the time.... :rocks:

Once a year! thats all!

I am thinking of Zaino'ing my car as soon as I get delivery to protect the paint from the get go. Should I follow the recipe in the posts above or should I go with a limited Zaino products application? I don't know what kind of protective(?) coating a car comes with from the dealership.

if you are going to do it that soon, wash it and give it 2 (or more) good coats of Z-5, and then as much Z-6 (or Z-8) as you want..thats all you will need...The extended crap they have you do, is if your car has been through hell and back, and has 4 layers of depositis to get rid of....again, most of the routine is about getting the junk OFF as opposed to putting a shine on it..

thats good you are doing it so soon...many say wait a while, but I say no way..Z-5 and especially Z-6 is inherently pure from additives, so there will be no glazing or damage to your paint...youll be hooked from day 1...

Look, I know guys that are absolutely obsessive about Zaino, and use all 10 million dollars worth of their products..I have pretty much done that, but its not necessary...For a brand new car, (without spots or marks), get a bottle of Z-2, Z-5 and Z-6..and thats all you'll need..2 good h ours on your car, and youll be good for a year..Although, after admiring the job youve done, youll want to "throw-on" a few more layers of Z-6...

The Z-6 is probably the most important one youll need after the initial treatment...Its just a spray, that "attaches" itself to the finish of your car..(which is why its so important to remove any deposits or water marks beforehand)...

The amazing thing about Zaino, is its not some hairbrain scheme with fancy advertising...Seen any Zaino commercials lately? NO..Not only that, the CEO and Founder of this product gives you his PERSONAL number and will give you tip after tip, and help you through your entire process..Try that with ANY other product...Dont think so....

Zaino ISN'T as great as it sounds!!! Groit's products are MUCH better! Plus is eaiser to apply and wipe off! Doesn't have to sit on the car for HOURS before removing like Zaino. Zaino instructions states the longer it sits on the car.. even over night before removal the better! Plus it DOESN'T last long on the car ... should be done at least 3 times a yr to keep up on it! WAY TOO much work for what you get!!

You dont NEED Z-5, especially if you have Z-6..That, you WILL need IMHO...
