Extended Warranty Options - Ford ESP No longer being sold for BMWs

As with many people on this board, I am weighing my options on an extended warranty. I had settled on getting the Ford ESP plan and even went through the process of paying for it and getting the contract. About 15 minutes later, I received a call from Michael Case stating that they can't sell me the warranty because Ford is longer doing ESP plans for BMWs. Something about how Ford was losing money on the warranties, since they are actually used in this case.

That being said I have tried other places like Warranty Direct and Easycare which want $5000+ for a 7/100,000 plan. Carchex wants near $3000 for a 5/100,000 (5 years start from contract date). I don't like how carchex goes through 3rd party companies like Vemeco and they definitely make me wary. Now that Ford ESP is out of the picture, BMW's plan seems like the only viable option. Opinions, advice? I am really thinking of investing $3000 and seeing how things play out.

LOL. Doesn't this tell us something.

Seriously, thanks for the information. I've been dying to call the company that has been advertizing warranty for cars that have upto 175,000 miles. I'd love to see what their quote is for an E90.

It is definitely a gamble, you can shell out the money and it could be worth it, or you may never break even. On top of that, if I go 3rd party they may give me a run around or their underwriting company may have issues.

My main concern is the turbos and if they go bad, maybe I can go with upgraded turbos.
