Clunk sound when rolling back, hand brake engaged - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

So I've been having this clunking sound for the past few months where when I park on an incline, I put my car in neutral, engage the hand brake, then let off the foot brake, and a clunk sound happens.

I'm pretty sure it's the hand brake that is making the noise....has anyone ever replaced the hand brake? Or have this clunk sound?

The hand brake will make some noise to some extent.

Wouldn't that just be the pressure letting off the brakes and the car settling down on the hand brake vs the foot brake?

Forgot about this thread....it sounds like a caliper moving and hitting another piece of metal.

It's a pretty loud clunk....like almost like a snapping sound.
