Grr still in 111! Need consolation.

Can I get some love? Ordered on 9/10, today's 9/27, still in 111. Don't know what's going on. Is this normal?

First BMW so not exactly sure how long this step should take, but it seems too long. At this rate I'm looking at mid November or later.

Anyone else in my situation. Need some company for my misery.

If you don't mind me asking, what's "111"?

If this is any consolation to you, I placed my order on 3/28/2005 and I didn't take delivery until 5/13/2005.

Less than three weeks since your order. Do remember that there are many THOUSANDS of cars on order or just being built that are listed before yours.

I think you will find there will be a jump in your car's build status literally from one day being an order to the next having been driven off the assembly line with probably little info in between.

The easiest thing to do to ease the pain - and I know it hurts - I waited months for my car, is stay on this board. Look up old posts, check out the owners manual PDF file elsewhere in this forum. You can learn a lot about your car so once you do take delivery of it, you can be familiar with certain functions.

You need to calm down, take some deep breaths and relax because BMW will deliver the very best car in the world (in its class - and better thanother classes as well) to you in perfect condition, according to its schedule.

What are you driving at the moment?

The big day will come soon for you to take delivery of this wonderful car.

Hope this helps you a bit. All the best.

I ordered mine on 9/3, and my dealer said the production week is "week 40", which should be this week. However owner's circle is still showing "on order" status. I called the 1800 number and it said the status is "scheduled for production with no confirm production date yet".

p/s: Since this is an international board, I think I should clarify that 9/3 means September 3rd. I think only Americans put the month before day. I came from a British system as well...but had been americanize after staying here for 5 years.

It took my car 2-3 weeks to say it was scheduled for production.

Same here. And even then, production wasn't going to be for another 3 weeks after that (which was last week ... hopefully).

Don't worry, this is all normal. It takes time, and anything less than two months from order to delivery is pretty exceptional.

Pete, I feel your pain. I ordered 9/13, when my salesman told me it would be made in week 39 (beginning Sept. 26). Yesterday, I learned that I had been bumped to week 42 for some reason. Maybe your car got bumped as well. There are rumors on this site that BMW's suppliers of the aluminum trim are having problems keeping up with orders, and that the comfort access option will delay your order as well. Since I ordered both options, I guess I'm doubly screwed. However, I think I have been in 112 status the whole time (at least that's what my dealer said yesterday). I don't know why you're stuck in 111.
By the way, is there any way to get production stage numbers, other than asking the dealer? Can you get them through the Owner's Circle web site, or the 1-800 number?

You can get the production stage numbers in the ultimate ordering guide. I think they are on page 5 or 6....

I started that rumor in another thread since that's what my dealer told me. No one else has corroborated that story though, so it might not be true. I too have aluminum + comfort access...

Thanks everyone for your support.

Yes, I have seen the numbers. How do I find out where my order stands? Will the OC or the 1-800 number give these numbers out, or are they only available to the dealer? From what I have seen, OC and the 1-800 number do not use the production stage numbers.

your dealer can e-mail your the car production status and history.
it is really updated (web site is not updated as well as 1800 automatic
system, also the 800 people don't have the same detailed info the
dealer has). At least this is my esperience

May not be a delay for those with the Comfort Access option. I ordered my car with Comfort Access on 9/8. It went into production 9/14 and was completed on 9/23. It is now at the port of exit waiting to be put on a ship. Not sure about the aluminum trim delay.

CA & Aluminum tirm casuing delay

Pete,

I was told the same thing by my dealer. Both the Aluminum trim and the comfort access are holding up the order.

Ordered 9.19, am told mine will be built in Week 43 (Oct 24-27). I am hoping to hit "Patriot" Departing 11.1.05 arriving 11.17.05 in Charleston, then taking PDC delivery at BMW Spartanburg!!!!

I ordered mine on 8/28.

The dealer told me on Saturday that the car is scheduled to be produced this week, and I should have the car in about three more weeks. The web site still says 'on order' and the 800 number tells me that the car is 'scheduled for production with no confirmed production date yet'. Im just hoping I take delivery some time in October. How bad would it suck to get the car after it starts to snow

Woohoo. Called my CA again, said the car is in 112 now.

Went into 112 on 9/26....which is weird since neither OC nor the 800 number indicate that, and it's been 2 days. I guess the dealer system is that much more real-time.

Nice, Pete. Be sure to let us know if you get any more news. I'm anxious to see if your car starts production before mine.

I ordered mine on 08/22. My sales rep told me it was scheduled for production the first week of October. I'm gonna guess that if you ordered anything with a delayed availability, such as colors or comfort access, you are gonna have to wait longer.

When I check the Owners Circle the status is "On Order"

When I call the 800 number the status is "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date".

Maybe I am just a little excited, but I find myself calling the number every day checking on the status.
