I dont know if this is the correct way of doing it, but it sure made things easier. Total install took about 3 hours.

1. Prep on top of the engine bay was to remove all the covers so we could un-hook the 02 sensors black and gray wires...

2. Here are all the covers we had to take off to get to the sensors

3. Remove strut tower bar so there is more room...

4. Took the wheel off to get a little more room for the clip around the dp/turbo

5. Clip is nicely exposed this way

6. Next we unbolted the exhaust and let it hang from the rubber grommets in the back, and unscrewed the dp from the exhaust. At this point the clip is also un-done.

7. You can see there isn't much room for the dp to slide out even with the exhaust unbolted...

8. So we ended up dropping the subframe a little bit to make room for the dp to squeeze out... Just about this much...

9. Finally got it out and now using the special tool to unscrew the O2 sensors...

10. Keeping the sensors in the same place as stock - plenty of room to reach stock locations

11. Going back in was obviously easier ...

12. Here you can also see that we took the splash shields and the stiffening plate off...

13. There she sits nice and purdy!

Send a message via AIM to jjurroz
I unplugged the O2 connectors from the top as well and then removed them from the DP once the DP was out of the car.

edit: I have the AR dp not vishnu, but the install is the same.

you know, I tried to smell something but nothing yet. I was kind of surprized that I didn't smell anything different and my trip home was 45min and 25min of that was stop and go. I dont have my piggy in yet so maybe its just that i'm not pushing it more than stock... although the sound was amazing pulling away through traffic, but cuising speed was just perfect - no drone - not too quiet either.

haha i'm sure i'll smell it and was expecting something more than this... maybe I was upwind or whatever... I even had my windows down. I'll let you know if it starts getting worse.

By the way, i had a nice hooked up G35 coupe who wanted to play with me coming home ... I just happend to be moving over for him to merge... not even on the highway he jumped on it and so did I... pulling him in and passing quickly but I shut it off after he gave up a few buslenths behind me... lol. Was a nice first race with my new car and downpipe

yeah we took about 3 hours or more to do everything above... I wanted to take pics of the issues and what we had to do to fix it, and to shine a little more light on what you would need to do if you attempted this overall... god have mercy if you dont have a lift

SLoppy,

Thanks for the updated photos of your install. This seems to take a little longer but way easier to manage everything. But having a lift was very efficient and a lot easier to do the install.

Keak, I have the smell to but for me , I enjoy the smell of a catless dp. hahahahaha not to say its very good for us.
