i miss boost
|
ill upload the logs in a bit but i just got back and the tps requested and tps actual jump immediately from the high 30's to the high 70's with nothing in between and peak at 81%... more to come but I think load actual has something to do with it as well its more pronounced in 3rd and 4th gear

I just filled up with 94 octane and switched to the stage 1 93 octane map to see if there is a more linear response as some members had suggested. Can someone explain how to post my data logs so I can share them. |

im running the 93 octane map and saw the same tps readings
i mean it has to be that way for a reason but I would like to know why, i'll email Rob on monday and see why this is set up that way.

The 2.0 map on my list is the stock or valet map. I went on the Cobb website and cannot find any other 2.0 maps. (which I assume is the previous generation of the stage 1 you are reffering to) Cobb makes no reference to a change in the throttle map on this firmware update, so I don't know why there would be a difference. (not that I'm doubting you). Do you know where I can download the 2.0 version of the stage 1 map?

I have the 2.0 map for I8A0S if you happen to have that rom version?
Edit: Actually you can still download them, they updated the link but the files are still there. Just replace the I8A0S with your rom version. 91 Map: "http://www.accessecu.com/accessport/BMW/AP-BMW-001/Maps/I8A0S/v200/Stg1%2091%20I8A0S%20v200.ptm" 93 Map: "http://www.accessecu.com/accessport/BMW/AP-BMW-001/Maps/I8A0S/v200/Stg1%2093%20I8A0S%20v200.ptm" Last edited by phil_; 03-21-2011 at 08:35 AM. |

putting the throttle mapping issues aside, I am still thoroughly impressed with the ease at which I can download new maps, upload them to the AP, and install into the car. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes!
Cobb has definitley produced a pretty slick product. |

Lance should be coming in to make some TPS revisions for those who would like a little less aggressive ramp in power. Cheers, Rob |

I have recently been working on some updated Stage1 mapping with more linearized throttle mapping to help alleviate the "on-off" feel that some people experience. I have passed the update around on our in-house 335i around to a few different employees to drive and they seem to like it, so I'd like to test it out with a few of you guys
![]() OP, what ROM version does your car use? It's identified by the "IxxxS" labeling in the map names and ECU descriptors and what not. Best regards- Lance

Have had my Cobb now for almost 2 weeks on a stock 2009 335i 6MT. I love the increase power/performance. On initial setup got the "Unrecognized ROM" reading, emailed to Cobb and they incorporated the new Rom in 2 days! About a week ago a warning signal appeared in upper window "Bulb of exterior lighting system failed" along with the "Service Due" triangle with exclamation point inside the bottom window in the upper right hand corner. Checked all exterior lights and all were working properly. The following day they both disappeared and reappeared again yesterday. Has anyone else experienced this and should I be concerned?
Also, never really push the car to it's limits until a 2011 Jaguar XK challenged me. I'm not a Jaguar advocate but damn what a nice looking car. I was dead on his ass the whole time and I mean on his ass. But never got the opportunity to try to pass because of traffic. In retrospect, didn't really know the car pushed with that much speed until I really push hard on the pedals. Oh... and I did get a minuet smell of smoke after that run. Is that normal as well? I just installed my Cobb AP this evening and didn't have any of the hiccups mentioned in the thread. My throttle response felt pretty linear; in fact, I noticed that the first half of the throttle was decent but when pushed to WOT it really came alive. I'm driving a 6MT and just downloaded the latest software. Also, I didn't notice any extended acceleration after I let off the gas. I only drove the car for about 30 minutes after instillation so maybe I'll see some differences after a few days. I will say I was really impressed.
As I took off in 1st gear, I didn't really jump hard on it and didn't notice a huge difference. When I shifted into 2nd and floored it, I felt like I got shoved into the back seat. Going into 3rd, my DSC kicked in and I realized I was passing cars like they were in reverse so I backed off. I'll have a chance to push the car this weekend; if I notice any differences I'll report them. |
