Just filled out the Ruger form. Ruger made it very easy to send gun rights support letters to the President, Vice President, and all my states Senators/House of Representatives.

Thanks for the link ZJP!

Well, I just bought a Daniel Defense Mk18 upper off of Gunbroker last night. I overpaid for it - oh well.

Guess I need to find a pistol lower now to have something to shoot at the moment and then start the paperwork on the SBR lower.

Does just taking the buttstock off make it a pistol lower?

More or less it has to be a lower incapable of being equipped with a stock.

Debating on pulling the trigger on an EOTech holographic along with an EOTech 3x magnifier. Both were mounted but the rifle that it was mounted to was never fired. I can pick the set up for $700.

So just need to put on a buffer tube that won't accept a stock?

I saw an m&p 15-22 in a shop today, but they wanted $710 for it, I would have paid $600 for that $500 rifle, but not $710

I apologize. I didn't do a very good job of explaining.

Basically, it needs to be a "virgin" lower receiver that has never been configured as a rifle (i.e., with a stock). I think the only critical distinction between a rifle lower and a pistol lower is the absence of a stock.

Yeah, that's BS. My LGS still has them for $489.

So, i ordered a safe today, finally. Says it holds 64 long guns, but i'm not holding my breath. Besides, i just need it to hold 4 long guns, some pistols, some other stuff and a crap ton of ammo. It'll be nice to have the pile of weapons in the corner of the closet and bedroom up off the floor and properly stored.

60"Hx40"Wx29"D Should hold everything i have and then some.

I used to store my ammo in my safe but I don't anymore. I may buy a cabinet for it.

If there is a fire a good safe will have a chance, if it is full of ammo it has no chance. realistically in a fire you're probably screwed either way.

Was thinking about getting a locking cabinet for the ammo as well. Mainly because before long it won't all fit in the safe anyway.

I was of the mind set of not worrying about a fire proof safe because everything is insured anyway. But with a potential ban coming down the pipe some things in my safe may not be replaceable.
