"nice car, nvm it was a 328"

so here the story: I picked up my buddy just before 6pm to head to the gym, we were driving on the 401 south and passed this sparrrrrrkkkkkkkkkling what looked freshly polished black e92.. a guy in a shirt and tie was driving it and honestly he looked bad ass. As he passed us going north my friend says "sickkkk car" then looks back as we went in opposite ways and noticed it was a 328 (not a 335i/m3 i assuming he thought it was?) and says "oh wait nvm its a 328i"

personally i wanted to stop the car and hit him for being so stuck up. He then said "everyone always gets the coupes mixed up they look the same".... i brushed it off and knew i had to make this thread. who cares about a badge seriously whether a 328 or a 335i i think they both look sexilicious i dont know what was going through my friends head, to go from "omg nice car" to "ew" just because a badge? wtf.

1) Do u guys have similar stories? any 335i owners thought a 328i was a 335i and thought differently about its looks (be honest). 2) 328i owners please feel free to rant ur anger and flame my friend because it was probly the most stuck up thing iv heard in a long time.

328 in Canada probably costs more than a 335 in the US, so it's pretty badass. A 328 in the US on the other hand...

I'm sure I may get discriminated against when people see that my car is "only" a 328, but I love the fact that my daily driver looks sexy, is reliable, and is fun to drive.

a 328 is what made me want a bmw again. Ive got the 335i but the 328 is the same car with a slightly different motor pkg.

But I do get offended when someone says "they all look alike"... It is true.. You can't really tell the difference that much from a 335 vs 328... Those ignorant bitches

The only reason why I got my E92 is because my client took drove me around in her E92 328 when my S2000 got destroyed by a truck. Her 328 was fast, nimble and SEXY as hell. When I test drove the 335i, I just had to get it because I'm a power whore. When you are a car enthusiast, you take pride in your vehicle, be it how it sounds, how it looks or how it can jump start a planet to spin on its axis. Truth of the matter is, when the 328 owner made OP's friend say "Siiiiiiickkkk!", he has accomplished his mission. 28, 35, no matter. My hat off to the 328 owner.

Does this issue ever go away?

328=230 hp
335=300hp

That's it.

335i - N54/N55 - ZF trans = 328i

Some people don't quite realize this, sadly. It's the only difference. Has zero effect on how it looks (besides rims; unless of course, you want to include how fast it passes you by as "looks," lol)

The next 328i will be much more fun than the current one. It will have a turbo 4-that should give it a badly needed shot o' life!

LOL it's funny that I read this post today. I just got my first car a couple days ago, and passed my G2 today... My friend saw my car and was like wow its sick! I get all happy and then he says, its a 328i... why didn't you get a 335i. I actually hit him on the back of his head :P.
