mid pipes?? - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

so i have an ikon exhaust, and many say to cat and resonator deleted is the way to go on sound.. but in performance is it better to get mid pipes???

which pipes would be good in performance and sound???

other threads don't really help ... srly.

help would be appreciated

Gavin's mid pipes are a good alternative to hack and weld but if you're on a budget, I don't see how mid pipes are gonna make any difference in performance over cutting the cats and res out.

In a car with 230hp it will make no difference aside from takin the primary CATs out-which is the only thing about the setup that increases power. The midpipe design itself will tweak the sound. With so litle hp the mid pipe design will not be able to scavenge any signifigant amount of exhaust to see any difference.

Just hack out your cats if you want performance and more sound

The midpipes stock on the car are also heavy. So you would be losing weight going catless and doing a resonator delete.

So aside from the cats no there is no power gain but for weight loss stock pipes are always heavy as hell!

please make a video for it, my ikon still sitting around waiting to go with no resonator and cat or just resonator delete.
