Just Bought 08 E92, Why isn't My iPhone 3gs Working all the time?

Hi all,

I just bought an 08 E92 335 iDrive with the Ipod/USB adapter. I plugged in my phone right after I picked up the car at the dealership and it worked fine. But the last few times I've tried, it's picked it up once out of 5 or 6 times, the other time it picked it up I had it plugged in for 15 minutes while driving, then shutoff the car, came back in 5 minutes and started the car and it worked.

Why is this happening? Do I need to update my iPhone or something? Any tricks I should know of? The cord was completely plugged in. It's annoying the crap outta me, thanks in advance for any help.

Everyone's iPhone connects every time? No one has ever had an issue?

Both my 3GS and new iPhone 4 always connect, even when I had the super old firmware. Unfortunately sound quality sucks.

What version of the iDrive do you have? CCC or CIC? Doesn't really matter because no one complains about connection. Is your iPhone updated to the latest version?
