highperformancebulbs.com - Bulb Out Error on 06 E90?

Anyone know if the highperformancebulbs Ultra Canbus Ballasts (Part # BMWHIDKIT) HID kit causes a Bulb Out error on 06 E90?

I could buy, test and return but would rather save the 15% re-stocking charge.

Thanks

Did you ask if they would guarantee it and waive the fee? The page says there will be no error - they would get bad rep if there was and charged you the fee.

Here is the email and reply I sent to HighPerformanceBulbs;

Hello

I am looking to buy the Ultra Canbus Ballasts (Part # BMWHIDKIT) for my 2006 BMW 323i. Once I receive and test, if I receive a bulb out error code what is your return policy?

I have tested non-canbus ballasts and have received the bulb out error.

They have had GREAT success with the PRE LCI models, HOWEVER, if your car has been known to be temperamental its like you may run into a situation even still. Again, Ive personally seen these work on PRE LCI models but there are no guarantees in life
Was wondering if anyone has specific experience on a '06 E90.

So got the HID kit yesterday, and after some testing today I can confirm that they are error-free on a '06 323i (E90).

I will do a full write up shortly on how I also got the P90 headlight AE ring to be error free using the LED bulbs.

Ive talked with the website owner.

I just want to reiterate there are no guarantees for 06-07 models but they have had great success.

If you want try it out on your car and they end up not working or throwing an error he will charge a restocking fee and you will lose out on shipping.

I'm sure you could understand that.

Glad it worked out for you. I know a few guys now with 06 and 07 that have had them work.

I have an 07 E90 335i and I bought the HID Fogs from Fred and have tossed both left and right errors. I wrote Fred and he has yet to really help me solve my problem. Its been numerous days without a response and I am frustrated. I did a very nice install and mounted the ballasts to the air tube for the brakes, and grounded the units to the bracket that holds what I believe is the horn, on each side. That bracket is metal so it should be making good contact. I did not scrape off the black paint though, which may be forcing my car into error. I do not know, I am just frustrated after spending over $100 on these "error free" fogs. Any ideas?

paint is not a good conductor - you need bare metal to metal contact. Proper grounding is very important for any electrical system - thats why they provide the grounding straps for you!
