Someone is Finally Fabbing upgraded turbo inlet pipes!

saw this on another thread. i've always thought the stock turbo inlet pipes were too restrictive at the boost levels we're running. more details (remove spaces)

I do not think the cost of doing this will justify the power gains.

they should have an update on the rear pipe today or tomorrow. they said they bent the heat shield back a few inches and they have clearance now. they didn't need to drop the engine, either.

I'd be really interested in seeing this work out. If you just have to move the heat shield a few inches and not have to drop the engine, this could be promising.

All I know is that when I had to replace the rear pipe, it required lifting the engine or dropping the transmission. Pretty sure you can't just "push" the heat shield back or else I got fked on labor

There are so many variables it is hard to say.

The 300zx Twin-Turbo crowd sees good gains from upgraded throttle bodies and 2.0" to 2.5" turbo plumbing upgrade. Like 30-40whp at 20psi.

Even if the piping is rerouted, wouldn't the work still need to be done to remove the old one?

they haven't lowered the engine at all, so i assume they probably cut the stock rear turbo inlet out with a dremel drill....
