Puget Sound Chapter of the BMW Club

I just signed up for the membership in the Club and wondering if there are any members on the Puget Sound chapter on the forum. Interested to hear about your experiences with the chapter and whether you have participated in any of their events.

I've been a member for about a year now. You'll really get an idea of what types of events they do when you start getting your free "Zundfolge" magazine, which is the local version of "Roundel" (I think it comes every other month). I have yet to go to any local gatherings, but I'm definately going to the next "tech session", "car care clinic" and "dyno night". I tried to sign up for the performance driving school last weekend at Pacific International Raceway in Kent, but they wouldn't except any of my 4 "basic car control" classes I've completed through non CCA sponsered vendors (a requirement before you can do the performance school). Apparently the "care care clinc" is supposed to be excellent. The "Zundfolge" also lists all the local vendors who offer discounts for CCA members. I'll be looking for locals at the national CCA Techfest going on right now thorugh Sunday in Tacoma to see what else is up. Hope this helps.

I went to the car care event at Griot's last weekend and it was great. There were some amazing BMWs there and everyone was very cool. Seems like a great group of people. I plan to go to more events -- especially the Concours coming up in the next month or two.

I've been a member since I got my car and moved up here two years ago. The club is great, and the driving tours they organize are pretty good too. That is mostly what I participate in although I've been to Bremerton once as well.

Still debating whether I will do the Olympic Peninsula tour that is coming up.

I'm new to the area as well as to the CCA, so I havent been to a meet/event but am interested in attending something close to Kirkland or Seattle, if possible.

If you go to one CCA event, make sure everyone attends Concours.

I'm a member, I haven't attended any events yet, but I keep meaning too. The forum is cool. Nice and laid back, more what I thought a BMW owners forum would feel like. Lots of conversation, helpful tips, without all the childish BS and attitude.

Good Stuff. Though I still haven't figured out where to put my decals...

The price of BMWCCA membership is worth its weight in gold! Not only do you get BMW Magazine, the Roundel and Zundfolge magazine...you save $$$ on parts and service at local dealerships and autoshops. ALSO...I got a $500 check from BMWCCA when I purchased my M Roadster. Pay $40...get $500 back. Not bad!!!!

As for the group drives...Ive been on a few over the years. They are fun. Plan to drive along with drivers of all ages and driving skills. Watch out for the young ones that really dont know how to handle what they are driving...driving too fast for conditions and driving recklessly. They usually get a scolding by the BMWCCA drive planner. After one warning, you are booted from the drive and possibly future drives. The wine tour last year was fun.

That's a good question. Check out this link to the Puget Sound chapter, I think you can leave an e-mail to one of the officers.

Us "Newbie" BMWCCA Members and E9X owners should get together at a Hooters or ClaimJumper or something for lunch/dinner some night.

Seems that if we get to know each other a little bit, maybe heading to the BMWCCA Events would be less of a daunting prospect.

I dunno if it's just me or not but does anyone else sorta get an ANTI-E9X vibe from other BMW owners? Nothing overt, just sort of a Hmmph attitude?

Anyway, we should get together somewhere soon, then maybe head down to the Concours coming up on the 29th (I think it is) as a group, I think that would be a lot of fun. Represent the E9Xs.

I'd like to get more involved in the Club I think. Seems that the vast majority of them are really in it for the Driving and track time and that is refreshing.

I hope you're all going to Concours next Sunday. It's my favorite CCA event of the year!
