What's is the stock exhaust pipe's diameter?

Hi, i'm looking to buy a magnaflow to make a custom exhaust..
Just wondering if anyone know the stock pipe's diameter.. so I can find the right inlet size for the magnaflow muffler

Are you positive I measured it at 2.25 not 2.75....... The stock piping definitely NOT almost 3 inches..... trust me on that one....

Got a 2.5 inch exhaust for my Altima a while back, it was definitely bigger than the bimmers stock pipe....

And OP are you asking at the muffler or the actual piping leading up the the resonator.

That's what I thought too..
2.75 seems odd and unheard of
I'm asking about the pipe to resonator

2.25, i have a feeling that he meant the collector pipe going from the resonator.

I measured mine after my muffler delete and it was definitely 2.75

All I can say is 330i's might be different.

are you sure the pipe you measured is not the one provided by the muffler shop?

I measured the muffler where it was cut from the rest of the piping. I'll measure again tonight because you guys have me second guessing myself and I don't want to be putting misinformation out there on the net.

So, your asking about the pipe that runs between the resonator and the muffler, then guerilla is right, HOWEVER, the pipes from the headers to the resonator are 2.25 inches.

I believe we were all thinking about a different thing......

LOL! I think we were as well, I just remembered measuring it, and was like wow, I must've had a few too many beers that day! hahaha.

Can anyone confirm that it is 2.75 inches? I'm doing a muffler delete and need a y shaped tip. I need to know the inlet size to order. Any suggestions on websites?
