Will do, but may be bad luck to change them before I actually pick the car up. Watch for an update and some pics on Monday night.

Looking forward to seeing how my blacklines suit the silver colour.

Nice one FM. I'm not 100% sure quite how your 330i engine differs to the one in my E46 but mine has performed faultlessly for the last 13 months, and thats with 78,000 on the clock, so hopefully you'll have many happy miles ahead of you. I still find myself turning the stereo off and lowering the windows just to hear the engine, even at low speeds, as it makes a fabulous bassy sound then screams like a banshee up to the limiter.

ENJOY.

Rog, have i missed the post where you've officially spilt the beans, vis a vis your motor?
Your sig says the 330 has gone and you said in one post (maybe the bank recommendation one?) about moving a big ol widge of cash - I'm guessing there's a new motor on (or about to be) on the driveway? Cough it up man, share the news!

Congratulations on the new car I absolutely loved my E92 330i. Sounded so good I always wound down the window when driving through tunnels or on narrow roads with walls at either side! Lots of those up here in Yorkshire! Enjoy.

How come its not an LCI ? or probably they are different from engine to engine ? My 2008 (58reg) 335i was I think the very first of the LCI cars.

Although LCI cars are October 2008 onwards, there will be cars which were produced earlier than this, and are thus pre LCI, but not actually sold until later. It's quite common.

Thank god! at last!

330i saloon - awesome - if ever an E9x will have a cult status it will be that one! Especially now its been killed off.

Does that mean you'll stop mithering us with questions? Its too late now for any more worries - you've bought it!

Well done FM - If it's the same engine that we have in our 130i it's a cracking unit and, having driven a more powerful 135i, an engine with far more character than one with a turbo – it will thrive on revs. Also, if the weight of the clutch and speed of the gear box are the same, an auto will suit it better.

The LCI launch was sept 08, so a build date of sept 08 must be very early LCI.

Do you have the double creased bonnet? that's the giveaway.

I've no idea if your car is LCI or not, it was built right on the changeover. Without a photograph we can't tell you.

If it has the HDD based idrive, it's LCI.

Surely though you must be able to tell whether yours looks the same as the currently brand new examples, though? I mean its pretty obvious if its an older one or an LCI one?

Yes it has a double creased bonnet.

I was sure that it was an LCI but put me in doubt because of the release dates.

I think my car is the very very first of the LCI's.

The paper stats just dont tell the story of the real difference between 330d and 330i, do they. Enjoy your new car, it sounds fantastic. I'm quite jealous
