Actually, up close, the amber is very visible, but in the first pic from further away, I actually think the silver might be OK.

Ok...I didn't even make the connection that he was using silver! WOW , but there is hardly any difference, sorry! I thought it was just a clear plastic film in protest or something to hunters product in the Marketplace! Wow! Still, Good job with experimenting!!

Well, like I said, from further away the silver is more predominant. Up close, the amber is very visible through this stuff. With a more reflective silver tint, this would look better.

I used the overlay that was posted by someone else here to cut the shape. When I held it in place, it seemed that even if I were applying the proper way, there would still be many kinks in the tint due to the curve of the headlight. I think this may have to do with how the overlay was created.

I think a professional tint shop could do this exact job in 15 minutes.

1) light grey etched glass vinyl for a 'frosted' look - would tone down the amber

Or even a black CF vinyl overlays and or reflective silver (not metallic silver).

The CF ones might be interesting as it has a dynamic textured look, especially the silver CF. Might be the closest thing to the Euro lights look most of us are looking for.

I agree 100%! CF is definitely interesting. I think CF or a more reflective silver tint is the way to go. Who wants to try???

Awesome! Are you going to use the posted overlay? For me, it didn't seem like the tint would lay right even though the pattern seemed right.

I might give this a shot. There's CF vinyl in silver available on ebay as well, like 5 bucks a foot...
