Should provide a bit of an update...
It's going to be all cf now with aluminum as a stiffener. This is something where the weight and strength of CF is required. There are two points on the rear bumper that is directly attached to the frame. I'm spanning that with an aluminum frame and then the CF is attached to that. Going to start small on this and work my way out. So right now it's just a piece that will hang under the bumper (or m-tech diffuser) and in the future, it'll probably extend out. The 3D models have been done up, needed to make some changes and the drawings have been sent to the factory for manufacturing already. Will post up some renders tonight. Hoping the finished product will arrive in the next few weeks and then I'll post up the pricing for it.

The M-tech version is attached. The non-Mtech version is the exact same but the fins don't stick up (they're just straight up and terminate at the bottom of the rear bumper). The M-tech one will work by being seamless with the actual diffuser.
Trying my best to bring down the cost too. The CF fins are pricey to make, even if it's made in China. Looking into whether I can make the CF parts thinner. My parts are quite a bit thicker and sturdier than what's out there for CF parts (i.e. CF diffusers). The thing with those parts is they're so thin I can shine a flashlight through it and see through the other side. With the CF parts I'm using, you can't do that... (using structural CF so it might be overkill...almost everyone else is using really thin CF pieces).

Yeah, the CNC machine at the factory broke down last week while I was on vacation. Should be up this week though so hopefully I'll update you as soon as the final prototypes are on their way here.

Sorry I meant shipping from the factory (in China) to Toronto, Canada. This SHOULD be the production prototype if all goes well...*keeping fingers crossed*

They were missing a part so they had to fabricate it and they sending it over via express once they have it done. I'll be contacting them to find out what's the status.

So, for those who went to the GTA meet in Markham today, I brought a little surprise.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1338764204 It won't be as functional as I hoped it would be since I wasn't able to span the entire underbody so I'm going to have to consider it a "cosmetic" mod. I'm sure it has some function since it does actually channel the air. I'm planning on making a full CF version for those of you (like me) who have the full CF M-Tech diffuser. I'm thinking of deleting the little CF trim that I have there since it's not very noticeable and not worth the cost to buy. It DOES however extend back to create that channel effect but I have a feeling most people are buying it for cosmetics (so may not be worth it). I'll update this thread when more info is available. Still debating whether to drop the CF part or not (and invest that amount into making full CF fins). Thanks pepep for the above photo. More photos to come!

Love the look your going for but at the moment that piece looks uneven and the fins aren't straight. It does not look right at the moment. I hope you informed your source who made it for you and is making a better quality version. Like I said I love the look your going for and would love one myself but needs to be made alot better. Keep us updated.

Well, dropping the CF piece is easy to do. The whole thing is held on with three screws. And actually I've been having a lot of mixed feelings about it since it's quite a big cost and it doesn't do much.
From the meet today, most people noticed the fins, not the actual piece that sits on top and it kind of looks weird. So if I drop that, then it'll bring the cost down to make, the aluminum is really fast to do, and I already have all the parts I need for the aluminum fins so that means I can get it out faster. Switching to CF pieces for the fins will just mean the factory will cut the pieces from a flat sheet (as opposed to using aluminum). Seems like more people want that instead of the aluminum though.

Yup I agree. Plus it costs more for me and the lead time is longer. So...it's gone now. Just took some photos. Will upload them tonight...
