Standard length 328i lever + zhp knob + Redline fluid (ATF) in the gearbox, and the shift is perfect for me. You may want to compare part numbers between the xi and i, there may be an opportunity to make another adjustment by buying a used part through the forum as I did. |

I was thinking of doing the 330 shifter since it is the shortest of the 3 getbmwparts offer. Really drop that bitch down lol

I have the gold lever pictured. I also did get the new knob in today from Tisher. They shipped it quickly and installation was certainly easy. Just pull the old knob off and put the other one in. At first I wasn't sure how the new one would go in but it just clicks into place with a little force.
Impressions of the knob: it is definitely a major improvement over stock. The knob feels so much better in my hand and it just feels so much more substantial (probably because it is weighted). The throws are a little shorter, which I obviously wanted. Now I have to decide on if that is enough or if I should also swap out the lever. Geez, I told myself I wasn't going to mod much yet I already have the knob, charcoal delete, and I have a BMS powerbox and gp thunder angel eye bulbs on the way. Probably gonna order the mtech rear spoiler, maybe tint. Still debating about exhaust and intake (mainly for sound purposes). I also have some plugs if I want to get rid of the front plate and I would really like new wheels. Ugh, and I've only had the car 3 weeks! |
