Can't Get Ignition

I've tried everything I can find but I can't get the Ignition dot in INPA to save my life.

Build date is 9/06

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Using this cable which should be fine for that build date. Is there something I'm not doing correctly?

Hi,

Maybe your cable is damaged. Did you install the newest drivers? EDIABAS works fine? What version do you use?

Pins 7 + 8 were soldered together, I'm going disconnect them and see what happens

That's odd, soldering pins is entirely unnecessary when using that cable. You can switch it between kcan and dcan using software that is usually provided by the cables' vendors (dcan.exe). Open the cable, remove any solder, resistors, transistors etc that look like they were add ons... If that cable pictured in the link is in fact the cable you have.

I just read all the reviews on that cable. It looks like some idiot probably tried to apply the instructions for a modified vagcom cable to an already good k+dcan cable. Nice.

I always get both dots with that cable. I know for a fact that pins 7 and 8 should not be soldered when using that cable.

Perhaps you rigth, but I can tell from my experience that when cable is damaged then both dots are still ON or still OFF when cable is pluged in to computer, no matter how you are connected or not with your car. You can try with newer computer and all will be clear. Your cable is working fine, so even if this IGNITION ON dot is not shown you shouldn't be worry about it.

Read out KOMBI module and find:

BC_DIGITAL_V aktive
BC_DIGITAL_V_KORREKTUR nicht_aktive

must be set as above.
