Ok, so HP = TQ x RPM/5250 With my guages 540HP and 300TQ would be at 9450RPM
So no, this is not in the BMW.

I was showing my son a project I worked on in the past where on the drive shaft of my boat I had a strain gauge to measure the TQ-twisting of the driveshaft and this measurement was converted to 0-5v output to go to a data logger or to these gauges I had made. Actually they are air fuel ratio gauges with different faces. They are basically 0-5volt gauges(that is all that air fuel ratio gauges are). So I was showing him how they work and put 1.5v to the gauge and got 300TQ on the meter and 3v (actually 2 weak AA batteries) which gave 540HP(really 2.7v). The deal with these on a boat is that as you drive you can get real time TQ and HP readings at that rpm and throttle position while you are driving.
Wouldn't this be great to have on a car? Way better than a boost guage or whatever guage.
He thought it would be funny to put the gauges in the BMW.
