Hi I want to install back up camera on my 2011 bmw 3 series coupe can anyone tell me a good brand for a backup camera or a good back up camera thatll give good quality nothing too expensive nothing too cheap just in the middle, and is it possible to make it where i can hook it up to my cars screen where when i put it on reverse the screen will show the camera, any help, tips, advice will be awesome thanks

Hey thanks for the link but do you know if once you turn on the car and put the car on reverse itll automaticlly go into back up camera view or you have to go into navigation section then go into reverse, because i also have a 2011 mercedes e350 and once i turn on the car and put it in reverse it shows the back up camera thats how i want to do it, if that possible? because im watching all these videos it doesnt show them starting up the car and puting it on reverse the video starts off with him already int he navigation section then them putting there car in reverse. Thanks

lol hey if the 40 dollar camera works and ive seen couple of ppl do it why spend the extra 450 bucks? you knw lol but thanks any of you know where the modmynav guys are located at?

Where do you plan to plug the camera into? Thats the reason for modmynav... Your stock system is not just gonna be like, "oh cool, he plugged in some random cables, let's display exactly what he wants it to look like". Modmynav does essentially what it is titled, and unlocks additional A/V ports, including full time DVD playback, rear view camera, etc. You can buy online, or check local A/V shops to see if they can install.

idc anywhere around the license plate area as long as no holes are made in the car so im guessing everyone is putting it where the light bulb area is on top of the license plate frame, if its there thatll be cool. does modmynav have a location in la or nearby where i can go and get it installed??

I was talking about the wires, not where to install the camera itself. You can duct tape it to your bumper, the point is you will have no where to PLUG IT IN. I don't know, maybe check their website for locations?

LMAO! dude idk how it works i just want the setup where once i turn on the car and i put it on reverse itll go on back up camera view, idk how all this works thats why i posted this, if i knew how it all works i wouldnt post this lol, thats why i wanna get ideas on how it all works, i dont care how its all done as long as it works like that, so i wanna get ideas on what to buy and see if its possible before buying it thanks lol

Either way, check their site. It's one of the better solutions I have found out there, and worth the money. When it comes to electronics (especially for a BMW), I'd pretty much never refer to ebay....

I stopped by his shop yesterday (05/23/2013). He's a totally cool and laid back guy.

Right now however, he is out of stock of the CCC-based camera kit. He does have the CIC-based kit. Parts+installation is about $1,100.
