SGM LCI Body Conversion + M3 Bumper + M Sport + Arqray Quad Pictures

Finally got around to taking some pictures. The car was in the paint shop for way too long. All the blending work took time, but the finish came out better than expected. They have one more round of blocking and buffing before it is officially done and I feel like that is never going to happen now that it is back in the garage.

The Arqray exhaust has transformed the way the car feels to me. The turbos seem to spool much faster. Almost tempted to stop engine mods here. Weak, I know.

I am running BMW Performance Suspension and despite the drop and 1" more wheels, the ride is better.

Hats off to e90post for the support!

Looks perfect!

Is that a pre-LCI M3 style bumper that all the vendors sell modded to fit the LCI grills and hood? More details please!

Very clean! Congrats, but I think the fogs need to go.

You got it. I adapted the pre LCI M3 bumper to the LCI hood. Then the LCI grills to the bumper. Not as straight forward as expected. I have some work in progress pictures somewhere.

Ok... here are a couple pictures of the molding required.

As you can see, the kidney divider needs to be built up and the outsides of the kidneys need to be shaped. The pre LCI grills are U shaped. The side also have to be bent and flared with a heat gun. The screw holes have to be drilled so the whole bumper can come forward about .5" from the centered position. Keep in mind that the body shop heat booth may undo some of this molding work so you want to slightly over due the adjustments.

For the grill adaptation, I trimmed the sections that accept the pre LCI grill tabs. On the grills, I trimmed off most of the clips and used a heat gun to roll the edges of the grill so they mate flush and as close as possible to the edge of the kidneys. Without rolling, the grill position is too close together and it does not match the hood.

I could not find a shop that would take on this project so I just broke down and did it myself and had the finishing work done by the shop. I bought two bumpers to have a fall back in the event I took a wrong step.

When you get serious about this, let me know and I can provide more detail.

nicely done for sure. I'm surprised to see how low the car is with the performance suspension. Can you share more info about it? Part numbers?

Does the light work fine? Because I heard ppl on the forum says that you cannot use the high beam when you converted from Pre-lci to LCI head lights.

I am kind of surprised there are no M3 LCI front bumper options yet. It looks so much cleaner and I'm sure it offers cooling benefits.

The fogs are a necessary evil to cover up ducting to the oil cooler. Ultimately, I would like to make some ducts that would improve brake and oil cooler efficiency and mate up to the huge outlet on this bumper. Then code out the fog lamps.

The headlights function fine - after you buy all the parts (housings / ahl / ballasts). I have to do some wire config to get the angel eyes operating. I think I am going to use the parking light wire to power these and do the wiring inside the light. That will also kill the parking lights out error I have from the LEDs.

Autologic was able to code out the errors on the front and rear turn signals, but not the front parking lights for some reason.

RE PMs on where bumper is from. This is the standard PU unit that Bav auto and some vendors have. I have a spare without fogs that I never need that I will sell for $200 pickup only.

Here are a couple more pictures with wide angle camera....
