Need Help with airbag fault!!

I have a 2009 328xi, one day randomly, my navigation gets an error that says

"passenger system restraint failure" - Something like that

Dash also has, picture of airbag. Very annoying. Been driving like this for 4 months or so.

I purchased an enthusiast version of the Bavarian tech tool, and tried to scan the error.

For solution it says, "Battery must be tightened" before I can clear the error.

ITa seems like my battery is fine, its not loose or anyhting.

Is it possible the bavarian tool is innacurate?

Anything else I can do?

I called dealer, there is no recalls for my car.

Any advice?

Sounds like the well known "seat mat sensor" failure. There is a recall for some models (mostly sport seats, I think). Might be worth asking BMWNA for help if dealer is unwilling.

i had the same problem with the airbag/seatbelt light error. basically in my car, the passenger side seat no longer chimes when seatbelt is unbuckled. Yes, BMW had a recall on specific VIN's, but of course, mine is not one of them so i am SOL. To repair, it'll cost ~$2500 (guesstimation by a BMW service employee since they have to remove the dash, seat, etc.)

i've been driving around for quite some time with my warning lights on but still trying to fix other problems at the moment until i bother with that one :/
