BMW E90 320D Remaps by Rapid Remap

Hi All,

I'm thinking to get my car remapped from a site I found off a google search http://www.rapidremap.co.uk/ has anyone had experience of these guys? I want a custom remap where I want extra HP and better MPG and rapid map seem like they can do this.

Also do Remaps damage your car if you go OTT?

Thanks all

I would suggest you use someone more well known such as e-maps (who is local to you), bwchiptune or evolve.

Would emaps do a MPG improvement as well as HP increase which is what rapid remap suggest?

I'm sure he'll have multiple maps. You can pick which style you want.

NB. I won't bother with the economy one personally. Get it remapped if you want the power gain. Otherwise don't bother. The economy claims are always somewhat laughable in my opnion.. BMW will have a well balanced map by stock to be fair, they've probably got more experience in engine tuning as a global company than a random guy with some remap software

Now my car is remapped, and I love the map. But I did it for the power gains. What I can say though is there was a negligible negative affect MPG wise IE I've never noticed it being lower really.

At the recent rolling road day both cars that were mapped by e-maps performed very well.

They get good results and are good value for money.

You could PM Creepy Coupe for info as his 335D was very impressive.

If down south I'd hugely recommend bwchiptune, above e-maps personally. But you do hear good things about both

Thanks for the responses all. Would emapping damage the Turbo at all as it may be working harder, also what would be the safest increase from 163hp standard bhp?

Any increase in power will have an affect but how much no one will know. Evolve are very good and have great customer service.

One thing to watch out for is transmission rummble, it's like a slight vibration when under full load.. Evolve and most tuners are aware of this and will make sure you dont get to much torque but less known outfits may not. Just something worth noting.

190 or so is a safe map.

Mine was at 212 for a while, ran fine. But did chuck out some soot.

NB. Some smoke on your car post map will be expected and nothing to worry about. The 2006 320 doesn't have a DPF so it all flies straight out the back. It should only smoke alot when you floor it. If it smokes at idle or very casual driving there's an issue. That said, if you go to emaps, evolve or bwchiptune then THERE WILL BE NO PROBLEM with that. They know how far to push the car.
