Oil leak help, is the a turbo problem?
I have been noticing oil consumption lately and just added a quart. It has been 7k miles since my last oil change, but the oil consumption is more in the last 1k to 2k miles.
It looks like oil coming out of the pipe into the intercooler. I know we get some blowby, but this seems like too much. Anyone else experience this? Is it a turbo(s) going out? It does feel like more turbo lag than I am used to, I'll try to find some time to do a few logs. Thanks, Doug

What would that do other than waist time and money? My understanding is synthetic oil does not break down like a conventional oil, therefore it will continue to protect. Am I missing something?

Doesn't change the fact that he's losing oil by the intercooler though...
OP, are you positive it's coming out of that joint? Maybe check the oil filter housing gaskets at the front of the motor (top). It might be dripping down from there. |
