Better Service - Peter Pan or BMWSF?

I live/work on the Peninsula, so these 2 dealerships are the most convenient for me. Which one is better for service? Do both offer loaner cars? ( I bought my 335i out of the area). I took a look at the service area at Peter Pan once, and it looked pretty dirty/unorganized. Never been to BMWSF, but I hear it's a modern/new service facility.

BMWSF will stick on that stupid BMWSF sticker if you buy from them so make sure if you do, to tell them to NOT stick it on your new car.

i worked with sf to try to find and buy my car, but ended up buying it at peter pan because no one would dealer trade for it. i think sf has better service, peter pan just sold a car..

I just called and setup an appointment to have Sirius and the iPod adapter installed in my car. The SA said he'd setup a loaner for me. It's really an Enterprise rental car that they pickup the cost of, but at least it's still a loaner.

The BMWSF people are a little racist too. They don't treat anyone very well either. There have been bad stories about them washing the cars and then leaving an assload of swirl marks all over your car. Peter Pan BMW is a little farther for most pepole but it's worth the drive. They give much better service . My dad snuck home a 335i as a loaner and it was awesome!

hmmm, I'll give Peter Pan a call now just to see what their prices and loaner policy are like.

BMWSF has a nice garage that they fix all the cars in, but it seems like most people have bad reviews when it comes to their service. I have a friend that used to work in their service dept, and the stories he tells me makes me not want to bring my car in. But I'm sure every service dept has their own behind the scene stories that customers are better off not knowing.

Peter Pan has a crappy looking service dept, but some people here say they do a good job of taking care of you. Kyee, when you bring in the car, could you find out if they're currently installing progman 25? My car is due in for service, but I'm debating between them and the Stevans Creek BMW.

My experience at BMWSF has been A++++++++ so far. Just went to them 30 minutes ago to top off my oil. They told me I needed a quart of oil and they topped it off for me, No Charge! As for the racism of BMWSF...I doubt they'd be racist towards customers.

I bought my car from BMWSF. And that was the only pleasant experience
with them. After that and because of the dealing I had with their service
department as well as their bodyshop, I swore not to set foot again in there.
Very bad...couldn't be worse in my opinion. Swirl marks in my car, unwilling
to help and do warranty work for a problem I had, tried to cheat me (yes
cheat me) by overcharging me as well as on another occasion trying to
charge me double from what we had originally agreed for something I wanted
done in my car and when they picked up the cost for a loaner while they
were working on my car, they put me on a dirty and stinking enterprise
compact vehicle that I could barely fit in. You've been warned...

PS: Did I mention that they were also rude?

I took delivery of my 335 coupe yesterday from BMWSF. I told them not to put the sticker, and they didn't. I told them not to wash the car, but they did that and I have swirls all over.
I met one of their service managers named Warren. He seemed like a nice guy and he was doing his best with fixing a problem with my Voice Command. Because it was going to take a while, I didn't want to wait. Today my CA e-mailed me that they have the latest update for v25 (She said I had 25.03 and this is an update for that one) which fixes the issue with the voice command and RTTI.
About racism, I doubt that. Especially in SF area where locals are a minority, I wouldn't think anybody would do anything like that but who knows. Maybe the person you were dealing with was having a bad day. They were nice to me, and I'm a foreigner.

"Racism of BMWSF"?!?!?

Yes they do, especially with their Motorcycle sales Dept.

It's a nice show room but the vibe from sale & service are not pleasent at all.

just dropped my car off this morning at bmwsf to fix the center dash console rattle. service dept seemed to be really nice. They went ahead and also included brake checks and topping off all fluids and new wiper blades. they were also going to set me up with a free rental car (dont' think they have much loaners on site), but i decided against it since i would have to pay for parking at my work. so far so good, i'll see what happens when i pick my car up.

^ when you bring your car in for rattles, do you need to take it for a test spin with a service advisor in the car so he could witness the rattles? Or do you just point out the general area where the rattles are coming from and have them investigate?

I guess it's a pretty easy way out for them to just say "can't reproduce the problem" and give you back the car if you don't show it to them first hand....

the service at BMWSF was alright. i had the brakes done last week and they were pretty fast. i had some extra things for them to check and they did that also. The sales dept sucks tho. i went in there to see if i can get a deal and there was a 330i coming in a month and the sales(mike) wouldn't give me a price. so instead of getting it from them i got mine at peter pan. whenever i bring my car in, mike pretends he doesn't see me cuz he knows he messed up.

I called Peter Pan, and their Sirius install was $120 more than BMWSF. Their iPod install was $40 more too. I think I'll stay with BMWSF for this first try. I'll report back my experience with them. keeping my fingers crossed...

How come you had to bring the car in for brakes?? Were they already faded? or some other issue?

If it's new and you tell them, they will try and fix it. If not, they will tell you
they were already there. That's what they told me. And I hand wash my car
and it was perfect looking. Until they got hold of it. And then they denied they
were the ones that caused it.
