Last Six Characters of VIN- S05262

What's your Build date and VIN? I'm assuming mine is the 5262 E90 Built for the US.

What are the specs on your car? I ordered mine 9/16 and my status is still 'Scheduled for production with no confirmed delivery date.' :mad:

My salesman was able to use another order and change it to my specs.

The 800# says its in the body shop and will be completed tomorrow.

You can't make general assumptions like "my VIN is 01234, so my car is the 1,234th car off the line." BMW's VINs aren't that obvious. Also, for one model, they might have 3 or 4 different VIN designations. For example, a 325i for the US market can be PS, KX, KR, etc. Also, they don't always start at 00000 because they recycle unused codes. So, they might start at 20000 and that doesn't mean that your car was the 20,000th off the line.

While we are on the topic of build date. Does anyone know precisely what the date of manufacture on the door jamb placard corresponds with? A salesperson told me that date is when they started to build the vehicle. Is that true, or bs?

We ordered on the same day, 9.19 and you are waiting due to the CA and the Aluminum trim. I am in build week 43 however. Until the cars are built, you really don't know which ship you will be on. The wait is a killer. :mad:

I hope it comes sooner.

Its a USA thing, but Id guess its the day they fit everything into the painted body ( only takes less than 1 day)

I called my dealer who told me that it's a week 42 car now (not week 41 as I had thought). Hopefully CA and Aluminum trim don't delay this car too much. I'll certainly wait for it (it's what I want, after all) but I'm just so darn eager!
