You are not upsetting anybody, at least not me. This is a matter of organizing information so when somebody searches the information can be easily found.

And it works for everybody including you: if somebody is searching for replacing the OEM HU this thread will show up... and then 5 pages will have to be read before getting to your post. I bet that by the end of the first page the searcher will move on to another thread. Therefore what you posted is lost. That searcher could have been you.

That helps nobody, as it frustrates the hell out of everybody that wants a quick and efficient search results. Thus searching becomes useless. Then the same questions are posted again and again. And sometimes in the wrong threads.

Which takes us back here.

How was the 8AWG wire connected to the MS-8? I haven't been able to find a suitable spade connector yet, most only go up to 10AWG.

Love this project. Great job knowing it can be done. Funny how I called 5 high-end audio installer companies this week who say they wouldn't try a project like this on a BMW. Takes balls to remove the iDrive head unit

I will be replacing with SWS8's and therefore will need to run new cable for these. I was contemplating running new cable also to the Front doors (where I'm putting focals 100KRS) - but this is mainly because I think I'll struggle to get the focal crossover in the door (I've got an E93).

I like your idea of using the MS-8 to power the Centre and rears and was thinking of doing the same - are you still pleased with that setup -any problems with PDC gongs etc.?

Smallett, I have a E93 also and going to upgrade my hifi system.

Did you have to, or does anyone know, if the wires to hook up a center speaker are already installed, or is this classic BMW where the wire loom is so specific for just this car?

The hifi system does not have wire run for a center channel speaker. The only thing it has is the carrier to attach the speaker itself. You will have to replace your dash piece with a speaker grill and run the wire from your amp to the speaker.
