New To Forum with a new (to me) 335i

Hey everyone! I joined the forum a few weeks ago, so figured I would introduce myself! I'm Al, and I bought a 2008 335i about 2 weeks ago. It's a Sparkling Graphite with a Terra Dakota interior. It's got the Premium, Sport and Cold Weather packages, plus Sirius and ipod connectivity. I picked it up as a CPO with 30,260 miles. I got it for $29,790, which I thought wasn't super great, but not really bad either.

So far, I'm pretty impressed with the power delivery of the motor, and the car just feels very solid overall. More so than my last BMW's (2004 330CiC, 2001 Z3 and 2001 525i).

My wife recently decided to become a stay at home mom, and we had 3 cars (2009 Ford F-150 Platium, 2007 Camry and a 2007 Boxster). To save a little money on the monthly outflow now that my wife's not working, I sold the Boxster and the Camry and consolidated that into the BMW.

It'll do until I can afford a 911

Here's a few photos:

Probably not actually THAT bad of a deal considering it is very well-equipped. Probably was a $60k-ish vehicle when it was bought.

Nice ride & welcome!

Looks like you got a good deal to me. I just paid a touch over 32 for the same car in monaco blue two weeks ago (minus the cold weather package, though it has heated seats). Mine had 28.5k miles on it.

Enjoy!!!

more like $45k. But 335i's hold their value pretty well. I don't think you got the best deal, but you didn't get a terrible one either.

I'm probably gonna get the Cobb Acccesport thingy to give the engine a slight hp boost. I'll probably just run the mild tune, nothing crazy though. Beyond that, I want to get a split armrest and get a euro headlight switch to activate the rear foglamps. I'm not gonna go too crazy with the mods.

Yeah, its almost. Navigation is the major option it doesn't have. But since it's going to spend it's life as my commuter car, I don't need it. In 2011, the same build would have been a tad over 50k. So I would imagine in 2008, it was probably around 48-49k. So I didn't get a "great" deal. But it was good considering it was exactly as I would have optioned it if I was buying it new. With just the right color combos too. And I forgot to mention it has the comfort access too, which allows me to start it with just having the keys in my pocket. That's pretty cool.

Looks like you forgot two options perhaps in terms of discussing how good of a deal you got.

Steptronic Auto

Logic 7 Sound

Metallic paint maybe too?

The original price and options sheet may be in the trunk with the owner's manuals. My CPO still had it. This is the sheet they display in the window on the new car, and it will tell you everything equipped with the vehicle.

9 Months ago I paid $34,500 for almost the same car, but mine is a coupe (+$2k) and it has navigation (+$2k). While I felt I slightly over paid as well, it was the perfect color combos I wanted and couldn't pass it up.

Just checked and it appears Logic 7 is standard on a 335i so it should not be figured in.

On the optional equipment sheet I made reference to that displays the options on your vehicle, mine says "Logic 7 Sound System - Included"

It's either included with a package, or standard on all 335i vehicles.

I remember on e46, I had to pay extra for the upgraded sound system and xenon headlights, cool these are standard features now.
