Will M3 paddles work on 335i dct

Hi all,

I want to swap my current 335i dct steering wheel for an M3 wheel, and wanted to know if the M3 paddle shifters will work with my car,

Thanks

Wouldn't there be some re wiring of the paddles due to the M3 wheel being up right and down left,, interesting to know if its plug n play or coding required...

Hi

Thanks for reply, I've got the later dct gearbox, so the left paddle is to downshift and the right paddle is to upshift, I'm not sure if the M3 paddles will be plug and play

No, not plug and play. The control boards for the paddles are completely different.

After not looking into this for ages after being told no, it seems like the person in this thread below has done it, with a jumper harness:

For steptronic paddles to m3 dct, it was plug and play. Same harness and all.

Idk about DCT...

My 2008 DCT was plug and play when I switched to M3 paddles and they're still going strong. However, the original paddles I had were the god awful push/pull affair.

Only auto's had the awful push/pull paddles. DCT have always had separate paddles for upshift and downshift.

On the auto's the M3 DCT paddles are plug and play.

This is not correct, my 58 DCT (7 speed) had the push pull set-up and this is why I switched to the plug & play M3 paddles.

It's different for later models, but the earlier DCT do not come with the separate up-shift/down-shift config.

I like the push/pull on my DCT 335i. Took a few days to get used to after my AMG with paddles, but I like it.
