I can maybe provide some clarity here having just ordered an E92 330d M Sport at the end of May.

Both local dealers had sent me emails and mailshots mentioning over 7000 worth of "dealer deposit contribution". It actually broke down to the following:

Free upgrade from SE to M Sport = 2555
BMW Finance contribution = 2000
Dealer discount = 3430

Total of just under 8000. Discount would actually have been slightly higher for any of the 320ds they had in stock. No 330ds available so had to be a factory order.

One things for sure, when the F32 launches, whenver it turns out to be, you won't get 8000 discount straight away!

And ours is coming soon. It went through the paint shop on Tuesday, can't wait! Will miss our 123d though.

Says 2080 worth of "complimentary" equipment, but they've put the price up by 1k over a standard M Sport. Is it 3K worth of stuff not including the price hike?

Cheers gIzzE, yeah, chuffed with the deal. Went in to the dealership with a bit of a cynical mindset but for once it was all kosher! Nice and easy for once.

Dealer had 10 320d M Sports in stock on the Thursday the offer started and sold 8 by the time we went in on the Sunday. The wife took some convincing to go for a 330d over the 320d I'll tell you!

Well spotted Hom, didn't realise the Sport Plus is a grand extra over an M Sport. Not quite so appealing, I wouldn't be that keen on the "HP" (BMW Performance?) diffuser, black mirror caps or "Edition" sill trim anyway. Think you're right, net value is 2080 so still a bit of a deal. I'd always rather have money off than extra equipment though!

So when you getting it?

I loved my 123d, the 330d should be a nice swap though, feels a lot more grown up.

If you say so.. there's more play money at the back this quarter than last as long as he enjoys the motor that's all that matters.

was in the bmw showroom the other day and i can see why people do it..

Even a 116i looks nice brand new... something about that near perfect interior and paintwork that just makes you want to buy it...

but i think we all have once had that feeling about 12 months into ownership and think.... shit i could have bought one this age and saved myself about 10k... bugger...

Then people are driving around in 335i's who actually paid less than you did for the 320i.... but they look no older or worn out than yours does....

i think from now on ill only buy cars that are 2-3 yrs into their life cycle... Just get so much more car for your money... im glad i wont ever have that feeling like im loaned to the hilt or leased to the max to get the model i wanted.... its going to be pure cash purchases from now on... sick of making dealers and banks rich..

No delivery date confirmed yet but dealer is supposed to be phoning sometime this weekend with an update. Should be towards the end of the month.

123d has been great but could just do with a little more space (and pace!). We bought it at 6 months old and promised myself we would never buy new again, but there you go!

So Irnbrukid, indulge me as a fellow Jock, what more could I have got on the deal? I assume the free M Sport upgrade from SE and the 2k finance deposit are funded by BMW, the dealer discount is 9%, should I have held out for more - 10% or more? Effectively 8k off seemed pretty decent to me.

Not sure in what context you mean - is that 3k per car on top of their usual margin or 3k to play with in total per car? What would normal dealer margin be anyway?

Just curious, always good when there is someone around with a bit of insider knowledge.

Free upgrade + 3k of free options = cash buyer

Free upgrade + 3k Finance cont = car financed

20% (or is that if demo'd for 3mths) maybe 15%
