Ran the car for about 200 miles yesterday. Like most of you with DP's installed know, the driveability of the car is so much better. More power, better sound, better turbo spool and sound. I have no issues with these cheap pipes. No rattles or resonance.
Maybe there will be some unforseen disaster in the future but for now, I'm thrilled with the product and have money left over fore more mods.

If you want a true 3 inch down pipe that is equal to AR in almost every way at a great price, you only need to look at VRSF. No issues with fit and unlike AR, they have a lifetime guaranty. I’m running VRSF DPs and have been for the past six months now with zero issues. They also make the stock exhaust sound amazing. Nice low rumble that is still quite enough not to draw too much attention, but yet loud enough people know your car is hiding something. At 4k you get this raspy growl that turns into a racy inline 6 scream that is very distinctive.

OBX can make a cheap pipe because they use a combination of bends and welds to reduce the production time. This is a cheap solution, but they are only 2/3 3” and then step, not taper to 60mm. You can clearly see it in the pictures they used a step flange and not a taper flange which will cause a lot of back pressure in the chamber that is caused by chamber echo from within the pipe.

One thing most people don’t take into consideration is the fact the VRSF use 3” pipe and only the last 1 inch of pipe tapers to the 60mm flange to connect to your stock 60mm exhaust. Because it’s the last 1 inch of pipe and it’s tapered, it causes very little chamber echo.

So if you’re looking to save money and want a high performance product buy the VRSF pipes and stop wasting your time looking at all the other junk on the market. I was skeptical when I bought my downpipes also and honestly, I know I made the right choice and saved a lot of money doing so.

Wish I would have read this before, I would have totally tried these out on my 335xi if I had known there was a chance they would fit. $150 for DPs...jeez that's crazy!

Remember, not all downpipes will fit on the xi cars...regardless of price and diameter neckdown. Which wedge1967 points out correctly. The OBX pipes are not tapered with care like other are on the market.
Here's pictures...best I could do anyway...

So the only person in this thread that actually owns them says that they fit great....yet everyone else just bashed and fanboy'd with no knowledge or experience with the product. Thank you for the informative thread N900WM. I don't like how vendors bash products without buying said product and basing their "facts" off of pure speculation. The bottom line is THEIR bottom line unfortunately.

N900WM, did you install these yourself or did you have a local shop do it for you? Thanks again for the constructive review and pics/proof.

The comments I posted were before I was a vendor here. I don't ever "vendor bash" and don't make comments that aren't backed by facts. I'd prefer to inform rather than bash.

To be fair, there's a person who purchased them on the first page who said they didn't fit and OBX wouldn't take them back.

Just sayin

So I assume these will fit a non xi then. It's rediculous what downpipes cost....

For $180 It's worth a try!

Might take me a while but I'll try. I've had numerous compliments on the sound. But I also have Dinan mufflers. Mid pipes are stock.

I agree! It's worth a shot for the price. However, I think it's the labor where it's costly and not worth it unless you DIY.
