It's not? Sure, the qb and rb are gone and you can't expect great things in that scenario, but the inability to fill a roster with professional players is a direct reflection on the GM. Beyond the stars (most of which he inherited or signed via free agency after they were stars elsewhere), who has he drafted? Where has his draft excelled? Special teams players? That is not what you draft for. Its easy to say, hmmm Julius Peppers is good, lets get him.

From a coaching perspective, name one player that has gotten better under this staff?

On balance, the roster is worse today than it was before.

Players play...is Caleb a professional qb? I think we can safely say no at this point. But that being the case, either he didn't do anything to acquire skills beyond what he came in with (then why is he still here?), he doesn't have the ability (why are we just finding this out after 4 years and who kept him around?), why is there not a professional qb that can handle the job behind cutler and whose fault is that?

I don't think anyone of the players can be accused of dogging it for what I can see. They just aren't good enough.

I know, but I' ve been blaming them for years even last year and the superbowl year...they just aren't any good, and the bears fans are going to suffer here shortly for a good period of time.
