delivery question. - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

i was wondering what the average delivery wait was. I was under the impression it was about 4-6 weeks? I am ordering the 325i this weekend (hopefully) and wanted to have it in by thanks giving to impress the family. Sorry if this was already posted. thanks in advance.

It all depends on the production slot your dealership will be able to get for you. They will more than likely use one of their unsold slots scheduled within the next month. If you do order this week, ask the CA what production week he will be able to get you into...Once production starts, you will have it within about a month.

I ordered mine on 8/23. The earliest slot I could get into was week 38 (third week in Sept) Mine completed production on 9/21 and it got off the boat in Charleston yesterday. It should be at the VPC now and could get it as early as saturday.

What spec car are you looking at? When you negotiate, know all the options you want, and what the total invoice price is. Negotiate price invoice up and lock in on that price if it's between 1k-1.5k over invoice.

i sure will keep you updated, i hate to sound like a moron but whats a CA. I already know all the options i want, 325, jet black, terra dakota leather, premium package, xenon, navi, steptronic. Online it says the price is 37,750 but the invoice price is under 35,000 (roughly 34,650 i believe). i hope i can get it around 35. If i have to pay more i would hope the dealer would throw in some free stuff. (just a hope though). Im think im going to Acura, Audi, then Bmw, i dont know why i would goto the other places considereing i already am obsessed with the 3. i hope i get this order in the quickest time slot possible, maybe the 2nd or 3rd week in october, which if i understood correctly would be the 14-21 of November when the car should be arriving which would be great unless its the 19-20th because im out of town, o well i just hope i order the car this weeknd. and again i will keep u updated!

CA is Customer Advisor. My wife has a '01 TL and we experienced a lot of problems with it, including leaky sunroof, molding falling off, two heated seats broken, squeaks and, the best, a recall on the transmission. Drive the TL and you will come back for the 325. I myself opted for the 325xi AWD. It came in on the same ship on the 10th and I ordered mine in July. The long wait was because the XI did not start production until first week of September. Also note that the 325 will come with runflat tires. Make sure you understand the benefits and downsides before you order the car so there are no surprises. Good luck.

I am not sure sure about 2nd week of Oct. because this is the 2nd week already. Maybe you meant 3rd (next week) or the 4th week. I think 4th week is probably going to be the soonest. Has the dealer tried finding a car that might already be on a ship or at the VPC?

Where are you ordering from?
I ordered from Vista mid August
and I am picking up my car probably next week.
The wait seems to be about 6-8 weeks.

I am either ordering from Vista or this place in Georgia that my friend gets quotes from all the time. I will most likely get a quote from the place in georgia and bring it to vista and get them to beat the quote. 6-8 weeks seems like very long, i hope they have one on the lot that has what i want in it or one in VPC or on the ship that they can get.

I ordered mine on 7/18 and it arrived at the dealer on 9/13. i took delivery on 9/15.

wow yesterday had to be my luckiest day ever. I called up a bmw dealership my friend recommeded to me and told them what i waht and asked them if they could find one in the stats because she said if not id have to wait till xmas, so what does she find? THe exact car i want, jet black, terra dakota, xenon, premium, navi, steptronic, im going to the dealership saturday to order. The lady said between 3-4 weeks but that seems a little long for a car already in the states. Do you guys have any clue if it will indeed be that long or maybe shorter? thanks

That does sound a little long. It all depends on where the car is.

Has she put a hold on this car for you? Wouldn't want it to slip away.

It could cost money if the car is at another dealership. If it's at the VPC, I would imagine they could change it
