Except for maybe the sound of your engine, in this video, CIA's don't offer much in power. Would you agree??

Not surprising.

I mean look at them, why would you expect it to give any improvement?

Car manufacturers these days are desperate for efficiency, but they don't bother with this crap.

Who cares about gains, on the E90, the sound with a CAI is intoxicating....

I would even take a minor HP loss to hear the engine soundtrack with the CAI.

But wouldn't you agree that the design of the stock intake system is just as efficient, if not maybe even more efficient, than something like the BMS intake?

I run a PTF tune with nearly an FBO setup (still running stock exhaust, but have the kittyless DP) and I cannot tell a difference between when I have the sock air box on, or the BMS intake. In fact, here in FL, my IAT's actually seem to stay lower with the stock setup. I am assuming it is due to heat soak with the exposed intake cone with the BMS setup. The only reason I leave the BMS on is like I said before, the sound is beautiful.

I would agree... I'm sure at this point in auto motive history, engineers have figured out how to design a proper intake system. And the stock air box is an CAI actually.

the design is better, but I don't know that the volume is there. Stock is fine, but at 20 psi vs 8.5 you're moving a whole lot more air

I have a k&n and considering putting the stock box yet, maybe when I do coils this weekend I'll swap it out and see how I like it
