Test drove e350 cdi coupe (valuation anyone?)

Think I've just settled on my next car. Only needed a short drive to know it feels right, went out and test drove in a 59 plate today.

Would appreciate a glasses guide valuation on it with 20k miles if poss.

And serious enquiries about mine welcome via pm.

I drove a 350cdi coupe a couple of years back. Great cars, and would love one. What colour combo and spec is the one you are looking at?

Peter - Option A is a 59/09 Black sport, grey interior, pretty much standard spec, Option B is a 09/09 Black sport, black interior + pan roof + harman kardon. Both just under 30k

Carl - they are 231 bhp, + lots of torques. My mileage is increasing, not decreasing, and I dont fancy yet another diesel bmw. Had a look at a nice 635d sport on my doorstep for 27k but I was so not interested.

The E350cdi is a belter imho, it just does every thing so well, and feels seriously special in a way that the BMW's just don't.
All personal of course.

We looked at a 10 plate with harman and comand and that was 29,500, that was for the old man and he ended up going with a 530d GT, but I loved the E Coupe, in fact if my X1 works out I will swap my E320cdi for one.

I can only urge caution here. I'm just getting out of an e350cdi sport saloon which has cost the best part of 15 grand depreciation in 18months.

That sounds an OK price, but I would hang out for a car with COMAND and pano roof.

I'm guessing you had one from new, or nearly new. With a 2 year old car with a 30k pricetag, I would expect it to drop from a trade of say 26k to say 16k in two years time, costing me 14k in depreciation, thats life

You trading it back in again? Or selling privately?

You just can't buy cars new and trade them before 36 months imho, only a very, very few won't kill you if you do.

And, to be fair, if you had sold 6 months ago you would have got a much, much better price, back at the start of the year people were moaning that year old E Coupes were no less than the brokers were selling new.

I reckon a 29k 10 plate E350cdi coupe will be worth around 19k in another 2.5 years, which makes it a pretty good buy imho.
