Sounds like a rice box. BMWs should have a deep note and still be quiet.

Sounds like perfection to me. Having been to the Monterey Historics almost every year since 1998, I have heard lots of BMW straight sixes at full tilt. The tone of this is right and proper. I'm still hung up on what to do exhaust wise with my car, but this gives me a good idea....

Not sure how that sounds ricey at all. To me, thats the perfect sound. Thanks for uploading this video. Everyone else is deleting all the cats and adding the PE. I just wanted to hear what it sounded like with the just the headers and stock exhaust system.

I'd like to hear this with a diff axelback exhaust sporting 3.5 inch or even 4 inch outlet tips.

I have the BMW Performance exhaust. It's not stock, but the secondary cats are still installed.

Thank you for posting this. I've been wondering about it (even asked about it to no avail).

Would it be possible to get drive by and from interior (mainly interior) sound?

I will pay you with +1 appreciate.

I have the bmwpe and am looking to do the aa headers and tune... this is not the sound I was anticipating from the como lol. The bmwpe alone sounds better imo.

Headers introduce a lot more rasp regardless of the rest of the exhaust setup. It's hard to avoid with a 6 cylinder. I personally love the way it sounds but not many seem to.

Far from ricey. Sounds nothing like a 4 banger with a fart can.

I'm with you, the rasp isn't so much rasp as it is the signature part of the sound that's muffled away on unmodified cars. Sounds _exactly_ like an I6 engine did back before the emissions and noise nonsense started. Beautiful sound to these ears and definitely nothing at all like a fart can muffled ricer.

I think the term "rice" is thrown around today carelesly. In my opinion, although "ricer" is subjective, based on my experiences of what I deem rice, that is not rice.
