Encountered the same problem over the weekend in my 07 e90 328i after 85k miles.
Car engine will churn weakly but won't turn over. Good thing it's still covered by CPO warranty so I took it to the dealership, otherwise I'd probably take it to a cheaper 3rd party mechanic.

Will be picking up the car tomorrow.
