Window Tinting Suggestions in the 626 Area

How's it going guys? Just received a new 2011 328i Sedan, and I was wondering what are some good places that do window tinting services in the 626 for a decent price. Any suggestions on what a good percentage of tint would be nice, yet legal in California? Thanks guys!

I think California Tints is one of the cheapest places. You can also check this for some local places.

As far as legal, 70% transmission is the legal limit for front windows in California, and I think factory windows are close to that already. So basically, there isn't any legal tint you can get for the front. As far as the windows in the backseat, you can go as dark as you want.

^^^^i wouldnt go to California Tint if i were you.....they are cheap...and as the saying goes, u get what you pay for....the owner is a VERY NICE guy but he isnt the one doing the job...they are volume tint installers and basically will get your car done in under an hr but you get air pockets, dust particles trapped in the film (theres a dumpster right where their garage opening is and if wind is blowing just right, you will get some filth right on your window and the guy just tints over it.....of course it depends on how picky you are...some may notice it some may not...if you look real close, u will see the crap....we went there and got pissed and so we went back and had them RE-tint the car....they didnt hassle us for this because the owner is very nice...but imo, it ought to be done right the first time around.....Also, they sprayed solution all over the door panels inside and didnt wipe it off and let our car dry out in the sun and by the time we got home, it was stained with the chemicals...so we had to scrub really hard to barely get it off.....like i was saying the guys are in a hurry to tint your car, because as soon as u walk in, u will have 10 more cars behind you....volume tinters...rush job...oh and they do a pretty shitty job on the dot matrix so if u have e92...better beware on the rear window.

BTW, you will see most people on yelp rave about this place...but its because the owner is nice, and he is always willing to re tint your car to make you happy...but why go thru that and waste more time in the first place...to save 50 bucks?? also, most people on yelp who write the reviews arent driving bimmers...so i can only assume that their expectations arent as high as bm drivers.

If u don't mind driving to 714, Go to TW tinting in Santa Ana. Talk to Leo...and get the ceramic...300 bucks but it's damn worth it...they heat up the dot matrix part and it looks incredible. They do very good work, no rush jobs and it comes out nice and clean...took my 335 and 535 there 2 weeks ago. And then I had them tint all my older cars as well.

Promax in Alhambra does a pretty decent job and is relatively cheap. They charged me $120 or 5 windows. My e90 didn't have dot matrix in the rear window and they did a great job for that one. but my e92 did and they kinda screwed that part up, but its not really noticeable far away. so I would recommend them if u don't have dot matrix in your rear window.

Do you mind taking pictures of the Dot Matrix, cause they (CA Tinting)claimed it's almost impossible to do Dot Matrix BUT I saw a Bimmer that has perfect tinted windows

Pro Tint in Rosemead is good. I took my last three cars to them. I have had my 3M 35% tint for a few years now with no issues.

Does anyone know how much Promax and Cali Tint would charge for ceramic tints? Looking to get ceramic tint bc I got comfort access..And do they have good brands avail like F1 or HO?

Prices are all over the place so I really dont know whats a good deal..some people have paid $250 and up to $400

sorry to hear your problems richpuer. i went to California Tint, didn't have any issues. just got a ticket for front tint, so thinking about going back to get it retinted to the lightest percentage in the front to avoid further hassles from CHP (but OP, not even lightest front tint is legal in CA)

Ahh you're right about that. Well, I think I may just risk it and go 35% all around! You guys think that'll look alright on a BSM/Oyster sedan? Thanks guys!

I would stay away from California Tint, he is a nice guy and if you pay him cash he will give you a little off...however the dot matrix bubble issue is a real problem with him and his staff. He said that you can't over come that problem, however if you spend a little extra and find someone who isn't a "volume" tinter, I would go with him, otherwise enjoy your rear window with bubbles, like mine...

Wow necrobump...

I've had 3 cars tinted at California Tint with no problem. There's a lifetime warranty on the tint so if there's bubble he'll take care of it. Peter is a very nice guy as the others have said and will give you a good price.

Titanium and ceramic tints have gone up in price. I think he quoted about $350 for those; carbons are less than half of that.

I currently have 30% black/black and I'm happy with it. You should be happy with 35% if you have dark interior.
