I don't understand why these companies keep putting out cars like this. 90 miles or 150km range is NOT enough unless you have an extended secondary power source like the Chevy Volt.
All electric cars like the tesla roadster on the other hand work because they have 250 mile ranges. Actually scratch that I know why these companies are putting in such small battery packs, it's because the batteries cost $10,000 and they're not willing to put $30,000 batteries in like they should.

I love it and can't wait until it's available in the USA! For my daily routes 80 miles is plenty, and if not I'll have an hour of time to quick charge it between sample runs. It's not so much for commuters though, I can see that, but for people living and roaming inside the city it will be great.
Pics look cool, very much like GT5 photo mode haha.

I want one asap! Seriously 2013? That is awesome!
Regarding range, the point is also to have power stations in the city parking lots. But no, its not for long road trips. Get a 335d for that! Please hurry. Please make it affordable for everyone to replace their old tech gas cars. Right on BMW! |

It is nice and everything, but you don't want to have a fender-bender in this car. It looks so complicated, I wouldn't be surprised if you end up changing the whole body...

Sweet, looks like the photos are from Vancouver. I've never been there at all but I just got a vibe from environment that it was taken in Canada. Plus, the "New home guide" newsbox was a giveaway too. They made the street signs the colour of Toronto's though. Here's the intersection to one of the pictures:

Wow. What a beautiful car. Do you know what the safety features of these are like? I've been in a car accident before and I wan't to make sure that when i get a car its safe so I don't have to deal with finding a car accident attorney again and all of that. I reallllly want BMW to be my next car though.

No I don't think so. The i3 has an electric motor driving the rear wheels so it will be just as smooth as the BMW I-6!
